Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gwendolyn Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Gwendolyn, thanks for joining us today. Covid has brought about so many changes – has your business model changed?
Strange enough Elevation Graphics was birthed during the height of Covid at the end of 2019. My now husband and myself thought to take advantage of our services being a boost as most of the work is designed through emails and phone calls a meeting to drop vehicles off was the only meeting necessary. I could work on ads and logos, wall art all things from the comfort of home.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I stepped in to this industry when my Now 27 year old son was in kindergarten. I didn’t really know much about the field but I worked for a government contractor that had a contract that required protective coating which included signage, decals and graphics, so I began to teach myself these things in order to keep working on that contract. After a few years of doing it, I realized it was some thing that I wanted to do for the rest of my life and begin to find other sign shops locally to gain more experience as I didn’t graduate high school or college. Fast forward to 2015, I was without a job and had a friend in Tulsa Oklahoma offer me a job at his design business When Covid hit and I wasn’t able to work my now husband, and I decided that we would step out and begin our journey as business owners. I think what makes us stand out against other companies in our field is we take extra time with our customers. We understand that artwork is different for every client. Some may come to a quick agreement on what they like to see, and others may need multiple changes. We approach each and one with patience. You see their projects through their eyes.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I would say my husband an I are building a future for our children, generational wealth.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Crazy thing is we had no funding, we used our skills to barter equipment and went from there.
