We were lucky to catch up with Guzel Khos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Guzel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I have a very unique and meaningful approach to photography! As a therapeutic photographer, I have the ability to use my skills to help people rediscover their self-worth and beauty. My mission is to help those who are struggling with depression and those who may have forgotten how special they are.
My magic power is my ability to help people feel better about themselves. By working with my clients and bringing out the best in them, I help them to see their true potential and value. This is reflected in the long messages of gratitude that I receive, and the positive impact that I have on their lives.
My joy comes from being able to help others and make a difference in their lives. I feel happiest when I receive positive feedback and see the positive changes in my clients life. This is more than just a job for me – it’s a calling, and I’m dedicated to helping people as much as I can.
This is evident in how I spent time with my first therapeutic client, sharing stories and connecting with her on a personal level. I created a space where she felt comfortable to let her guard down and be vulnerable. The result of my photoshoot was transformative for this lady. She saw herself in a new light and felt like her true self again. I helped her to heal from a difficult past experience and find a sense of self-worth and confidence. It’s heartwarming to hear how much this experience meant to her and how grateful she was for my help.
My story is a testament to the power of photography as a therapeutic tool. My unique approach and passion for helping people shines through in every aspect of my work. I want to continue making a difference in the lives of many people!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My roots are in a small Russian village, but I’ve been living in the US for the past 10 years. Although photography has been a beloved pastime of mine for many years, it’s only been relatively recently that I’ve begun to focus on it professionally. Photography has been a part of my life for a long time, starting at a young age with my parents’ camera. I was able to turn this hobby into a profession and start my own business. My dedication and passion for photography have undoubtedly played a big role in my success so far.
Starting a business can be a challenging and rewarding experience, and it takes a lot of hard work and determination to make it work. I had to face many obstacles and overcome many challenges along the way, but it’s clear that I love for photography has kept you motivated and inspired.
My new approach to photography, called therapeutic photography, is a wonderful way to achieve this goal. by focusing on the emotional and psychological needs of my clients, I can create a safe and supportive space for them to be themselves and feel confident and empowered.
My passion for helping people shines through in everything you do, from the way I approach a photoshoot to the final products that I deliver. By creating positive changes in people’s lives and helping them feel beautiful and bright, I am making a real difference in the world.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One of the most effective ways to attract new clients and build a thriving photography business is to consistently exceed expectations and deliver outstanding work, regardless of the specific assignment. In my experience, I’ve had the most success in attracting new clients through a combination of Instagram outreach and word-of-mouth referrals from past customers who were thrilled with my work.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
To me, the most valuable part of being a creative professional is the freedom to explore and express myself in new and exciting ways. When I’m able to fully immerse myself in a project and let my creativity take the lead, the end result is often something that exceeds my own expectations and those of my clients. There’s truly nothing like the sense of accomplishment that comes from being able to turn my artistic vision into reality.
