Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Guy Snowdon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Guy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I’m incredibly happy, like everything in life you have good days and bad days. I really don’t think about what it would be like to just go and get a regular job, BUT when times are slow there is always the lingering thought of when is the next job going to come through. Those times are rare though because either I’m gigging or I’m writing new music so work is always busy.

Guy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well i’m Guy Snowdon I’m the frontman and songwriter for the band Guy Snowdon & The Citizens. I’m originally from Birmingham England and have been living in Cleveland for nearly 10 years. I started the band back in 2019 after David Spero (a major industry manager) heard some of my original music. It was never really my intention to form a band but when someone like that says “form a band and I’ll help you” you don’t ignore them. We have two albums out and are about to release our third album titled “3” in the next few weeks. I would describe the band as a mixture of Anglo/American rock. My writing style is very Britpop and with Matthew Schieferstein on drums and Jon Pyle on guitar bringing the American influence really gives us a stand out sound. We recently signed with Young Outlaw Music which is exciting as they have distribution through Virgin music/Universal music. So watch this space.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I don’t think original bands get the support that they used to, people seem to favour cover bands. So for me I think people need to get back out there and go and discover some new music because there are some incredible artists out there that aren’t getting the support they deserve.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me it’s an audiences response, to see people really enjoy what you have created is always a buzz.
