Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gustavo Fernandez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Gustavo , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
25 years ago, I took the road less traveled and make the decision to do only the things that makes me happy. When you find your vocation in life, you must listen to it and dedicate one hundred percent of yourself to it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been painting since I can remember, art has been my life, This year I turn 25 dedicated 100% to art, literally half of my life painting. I’m obsessed with colors, my passion is to transmit emotions through colors, each color handles an emotion and life speaks to us in colors. We have to learn to see the big picture and understand the color signals of life. Living from art is an emotional roller coaster, full of ups and downs where only talent and perseverance can lead you to success.
I studied graphic design and one day, 25 years ago, I realized that I was not happy and decided to abandon everything to dedicate myself to art.
It was the best decision of my life, from that moment on this beautiful story began that has filled me with satisfaction, I was born in Venezuela, and it was there where my artistic career began, years later in 2003 I traveled to Spain, where I studied psychology of the color.
In 2015 I decided to jump to the United States, and I settled in Miami/Florida where I developed my work, obtaining very good receptivity and participating in many exhibitions.
My dream since I was little was to live in NYC and during the pandemic, I made the decision to move to New York City, and I can honestly say that it has been the best move of my life.
In 3 years, I have participated in 4 collective art exhibitions and presented 2 solo art shows, I am currently preparing my next solo titled LIFE IS A CIRCUS , a multi media art experience.
My celebration of 25 years in the art world .

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
My greatest satisfaction is being able to transmit emotions through my colors, producing a “wao” effect in the viewer and teaching them to see life in color.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
It is important that everyone understands that being an artist is a job, even if it is something that comes from the soul, the expression and point of view of an artist must be valued, not just supported.
