Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gulrukh Bala. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Gulrukh, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents have unwaveringly lived as conscious energy beings, always present. Whenever a moment turned sour, I observed that they silently steered it back to harmony.
Integrity, loyalty, motivation and loving compassion were their innate qualities through life. My mum was a school teacher and later, a school principal in Bombay (Mumbai), a skilled potter molding over a thousand hearts! My Dad was a brilliant Chief accountant of the Press Trust of India.
After work, they volunteered with their favorite organization, The Progressive Group of Bombay. He, its President, and mum, Honorary Secretary. They continued this work for many terms, contributing to society in numerous ways, connecting with world dignitaries and placing the warm Indian heart even further on the map of our world. My mother had one request from my father – that whenever they attended any event they were invited to, that we would attend as a family. We were taken everywhere and learned all the shades of our world closely. As one of three siblings, I thrived under their tutelage. We were constantly learning by example. In our home, the practice of peace, love and harmony was tangible. We were rarely admonished by my mother, and with my father, he never raised his voice with us.
Through my parents I learned about being of service with grace and generosity. They took care of friends and relatives from their hometowns who came to Bombay seeking jobs. Dad always came through for everyone, and there were many. We had a studio apartment above ours, which dad offered to those who needed a home stay (for as long as it took), until they became independent. He was instrumental in making introductions through his own network, and ensuring everyone ended up with a job. Mum was always the quiet, steadfast partner. We had front row seats to witness what it means to live a life of values and selfless dignity.
As a child I was curious and passionate about nature, people, the human voice, theater arts, music, art, and all of these were encouraged. I studied and played the piano for over a decade. We were placed in the best private schools and received a fine education, because they believed going for the best was the only way to honor this journey of life. We were nurtured to believe in ourselves, knowing we’re worthy and capable just as we were. They allowed us to make mistakes, trip and rise again. Our own experiences and lessons led us forward. They never questioned us about homework and assignments. This was a lesson in Trust. We could always ask for help, but their faith in us was unwavering, and helped us grow to be responsible, accountable and trusting adults. This cultivation of integrity, love and reverence for every person’s journey, has become the backbone of my life. I truly believe that our parents and lineage leave an indelible impact on us all.
My father passed away suddenly when we were teenagers. This began another chapter of life for our family, this one more challenging. I watched my mother, now the sole breadwinner of the family, go through any length to make sure our lives stayed as uninterrupted as possible. There were days when the biggest challenge was making sure there was food on the table. I never saw her complain or show that she was struggling. Little did I know that watching my widowed mother raise her family was preparing me for my own life lessons to come decades later. All of us siblings grew up quickly, and started working to contribute to the family expenses. While there was a lot of responsibility on our young shoulders, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being an independent woman.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I was initiated into Spiritual healing at an early age when I received the Divine dispensation of Heartlight Ascension, which is Supramental Yoga. Supramental means that one perceives an experience with every fiber of one’s being; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It is ‘knowing’ in the most profound sense, it is ‘whole-istic’ in that, it is what is in its entirety, not just in part. Within this practice, there is complete freedom to create and manifest, in the ability to see/feel/know oneself as part of the whole of all others. Heartlight Ascension is the basic practice of connecting our flow of thought to our flow of breath. This training which goes beyond the human mind, is vital for maintaining clear energy centers.
I have been with these whole-istic multi-modality healing practices for over forty years. My clients have named me many things over time – an enlightened counselor, spiritual director, lifestyle motivator, workshop leader, meditation Master and therapist with dynamic interpersonal skills. Whatever the labels or titles, I’m constantly addressing vital questions about how we can heal with a gathering of energies which are active around us at all times. Through my own life experiences, I realized that I have hands of Light. My mission is to help people, wherever they are in their life’s journey, to experience the expansion of a healing heart, where peace flows abundantly.
My journey to healing came through many life experiences and life lessons. After twelve years of thoroughly enjoying being a mother and raising two beautiful children, it was time to embrace being a single parent. The memory of my mother’s resilience gave me the courage to step into this new role. I was a private tutor for children and adults from home, ensuring I was present for my children, while making a living that provided for their basic needs and education. During this time, I leaned more towards spiritual guidance and insight, and pursued a PhD in Alternative, holistic medicine. As the kids got older and into their own lives, I chose to pivot , devoting all my energy to Heartlight Ascension, and building its community of practitioners. 12 years ago, in a powerful experience on Mount Shasta, I was declared an Ascended Master. My parents have been present throughout this journey from their realm.
Over the decades, I have nurtured my unique gifts of divine channeling, creating a blend of deep understanding of the Source in present day situations, helping thousands of people across the world to look inside, beyond the mundane and reach higher levels of fulfillment. I continue to receive daily new strands of channeling from beloved Source to carry my work forward.

Can you share some case studies of your work and how it has helped your clients?
There is a 2012 case history we have of an adolescent who had a deep death wish. He passed on while in a healing session. His breath was gone, body was stiff and cold when I completed the session and requested him to sit. With the strength of God and our loved ones, determined to bring him back, I opened his mouth and gave him a spoonful of water. I prayed that he would swallow it. He did. I shook him most vigorously for a minute, and life returned. He began breathing. When he came to, he shared his experience of where he had been and what he had seen. It was an incredibly beautiful experience. One of holding Tight to Faith.
Another time, a student brought her young, pregnant daughter-in-law one afternoon for counseling. She had had a sonography which showed a blur on the fetal brain, and was advised to have abortion. She was devastated, sobbing as she held her abdomen, and repeatedly said aloud, Why can’t this baby be well? I listened deeply, and then requested her to lie down for our session. We did a full chakra cleansing. I witnessed the divine Mother energy enter the session. Her fingers then started working inside this client’s abdomen. After the session I told her of the experience and asked her to come for one more session. She trusted me and came one more time. After 10 days, I asked her to get another sonogram. Her gynecologist was surprised at what she saw. She said the blur around the fetal brain had lifted and advised my client that it was now safe to carry this baby to full term. I told her this baby would arrive on my birthday. And she did! An ethereal being had been created, such is the infinite power of channeling. All is possible when God is present. Our every breath is heard.
There have been so many instances when new clients with so much pain and illness have been guided to come to me. In time, with our work together, their lives have been transformed. A testament to Divine Grace eternally present. I have witnessed the clearing of psoriasis, chronic thyroid issues, advanced, rare throat cancer, breast cancer, paralysis and many such illnesses.
This is my most humble accomplishment which I hold as a rare gem of genius within. I remain in constant awe of what Source has given me and the power of the Supreme Beings of Light. I have been in the US for 5 years, and have been told it is a mission, to continue the work and spread the word of Heartlight Ascension healing and consciousness. Heartlight is the divine life force energy, which each one of us has been granted by the Divine Light, God, Spirit. Heartlight Ascension is the practice of raising our frequencies into upward spirals of good. We motivate ourselves to sustain this energy and rise, or ascend, with our Heart’s light. Through it, we release the old conditioning of the ego mind and we own the joy of oneness with Being.
You mention multi-modalities in your work. Can you share more about the modalities you use?
I primarily use A Grade Therapeutic Essential Oils as well as A Grade Crystals in all sessions, along with guided, channeled prayers and invocations. Their divine energies lend fully to expansion of Light. For example, our crystal headbands have cleared the brain cells, optic nerve and full vision comes through. We create oil blends and crystal bracelets for every single person who’s willing to receive a complete healing.
Over the years the channeling downloaded to me took the shape of multiple books, meditation CDs and channeled artwork. You can learn more about these from our website.
Our comprehensive videos on chakra clearing and various discourses are on YouTube.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience has been the leitmotif (recurrent theme) of my life. My capacity to stay flexible to the moment, to re- invent myself, to spring back from adversity, has been a constant practice. My father’s passing away when I was fifteen, was the first and most challenging time of life. Watching my mother move through the days, I tried to understand her feelings of pain, and hold compassion for her fractured heart that had lost its heartbeat with the passing of her husband, her partner, her other half.
I mentioned earlier about stepping into responsibility and independence. This started with me in my teenage years offering pianoforte and English tutoring to two little girls in our neighborhood, in an effort to help pitch in financially. I applied for and received a college scholarship which was very helpful. I continued tutoring kids as well as got a full time bank job. I transferred from day college to early morning college and began earning a good income for the home.
Just as things were starting to settle, my mother had a heart attack. At 18 or 19 years, we were now thrown into the world of doctors, hospitals and the start of a long journey of care-giving. These first few life challenges set the foundation of my own resilience practice, that was put to test decades later, when I had to choose single-parenting for the well being of our family. This was the hardest time in my life, living in a society that looked down on a broken marriage. The blessings of my parents, a lot of prayer, and the kindness of so many strangers and friends got me through. During a time when there was no safety net, a divine net appeared day to day. The practice of resilience is also a lesson in living in the present moment. Life has dealt many lemons along the way, and I have learned to create the best lemonade possible.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
For me there are 3 main elements that keep me going.
One, the most helpful of all for succeeding in my field is practicing the tenets of what we put out in the world. For me, this is a daily practice of shedding the ego self. The constant knowledge that this is not me, or my ego that is helping my clients, but it is the Source that is using me as a channel to help. This practice involves living a life of constant integrity, obedience to Source messages, humility, listening, creativity, an innate love of people, deep compassion and skillful leadership. The universe unfolds her directive and in an instant of creative genius, I receive a flash of how exactly to skillfully handle the situation for a client. To become a confidante for life, for every client is an earned process, and requires authenticity and creativity.
Two, I believe it is essential to remain a student of life. I am constantly in a learning space with my own teachers -whether it is scripture, or a modality, or deeper level of what I already practice.
Three, taking the time to recalibrate and refuel myself. I get that from nature, an appreciation of all things beautiful, and being in prayer – it is a basic requirement for me.
