We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gullie Lamont™. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gullie below.
Alright, Gullie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I discovered my passion for the creative arts at a young age, around eight years old. It was a transformative time to grow up, as I was born in the late 80s (1989 to be exact) and came of age in the 2000s. This era was marked by a convergence of music, photography, and fashion, and it deeply resonated with me. I realized I had an innate sense of visual aesthetics and a keen ear for music. I would create melodies and craft catchy lyrics even as a child. It was in these early moments that I knew I had to pursue a path in the creative and artistic world professionally.
Gullie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Yo, I’m Gullie Lamont and I’m not your average artist. I call the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, my home, and I’ve been on an extraordinary journey that blends music and business in a way that’s truly unique.
First and foremost, music is my lifeblood. I’m not just a musician; I’m a storyteller, a melody-maker, and a producer who crafts tracks that defy genres. My music isn’t confined to boundaries; it’s a universal language that connects with people worldwide. It’s the kind of music that resonates not just with fans but with celebrities, professional athletes, and industry insiders.
But what sets me apart is my deep understanding of the business side of music. I’m not content with just creating tracks; I’m a master of music licensing, a sync genius, and a strategic marketer. In the world of music, I’m not just an artist; I’m a music mogul in the making.
Imagine my music effortlessly syncing with the visuals of the hottest films, TV shows, and commercials. It’s a fusion of creativity and strategy that brings artists and brands together in perfect harmony. I’m not just making music; I’m shaping the industry.
My journey is all about connections, and I take immense pride in the relationships I’ve built through my music and business ventures. Whether it’s collaborating with A-list celebrities, professional athletes, or emerging talent, I’m driven by the passion to create and the desire to connect.
So, if you’re ready, I’m here to guide you on a journey where music meets business, and possibilities are limitless. Join me, Gullie Lamont & The Placement Alert, and let’s create something extraordinary together. It’s Only Right.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been an incredible journey, and I’d love to share some insights and advice for those who are just starting on this path.
My approach has always been rooted in authenticity. I believe that being genuine and staying true to your passion is the key to connecting with your audience. I began by sharing my music, my creative process, and my personal experiences. It’s essential to let your audience see the real you.
Consistency is another crucial factor. I made sure to post regularly, whether it was new music, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or even just sharing my thoughts on the industry. Consistency keeps your audience engaged and coming back for more.
Engagement is a two-way street. I always respond to comments and messages from my followers. It’s a way to build a real connection and show that you value their support. Engagement also extends to collaborations. Partnering with other artists or influencers can expose your content to a broader audience.
Another piece of advice is to know your audience. Understand what they like, and what they engage with the most, and tailor your content to their interests. This kind of audience-centric approach ensures that your content resonates.
Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of storytelling. Share your journey, your successes, and even your challenges. People love to follow stories, and it creates a sense of connection and reliability.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is to be patient. Building an audience takes time, and it’s okay to start small. Stay consistent, engage with your followers, and always be authentic. Your audience will grow as long as you stay passionate about what you do.
Yeah, Yeah. It’s Only Right.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an artist and a creative, especially in my role as a studio owner, A&R, and manager at The Kake Factory Studio, nestled in the vibrant heart of North Hollywood, California, is the joy of witnessing others reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
At The Kake Factory Studio, we have the privilege of working with a diverse range of talented artists and musicians. The most rewarding moments occur when these artists step into our studio, put their trust in our guidance, and then are genuinely surprised by the magic we create together. The joy that radiates from them when they realize just how good they sound – that’s something truly indescribable.
But it doesn’t stop there. Through my company, and as the owner of PlacementAlert, I’ve ventured into the world of sync licensing. Here’s where another layer of fulfillment comes in. When I see the artists I work with or mentor make the decision to invest in themselves and their craft, it’s incredibly gratifying. We tailor their music, sculpt it to perfection, and align it precisely with what music supervisors, commercials, and video games demand. This includes the support and services provided by GKMG (Grown Kids Music Group) publishing company.
The pinnacle of reward comes when I witness these talented individuals receive agreements from production houses or sync libraries, often with the assistance of PlacementAlert. Knowing that I played a part in their journey, helping them bridge the gap between their creativity and the industry’s needs, is an indescribable burst (pause) of joy.
It’s a reminder that believing in someone else’s potential, sometimes even more than they believe in themselves, can lead to extraordinary outcomes. This belief in others’ talents, coupled with hard work and dedication, is what makes being an artist and a creative at The Kake Factory Studio, alongside PlacementAlert and GKMG, truly fulfilling. It’s a journey of empowerment, both for myself and for those I have the privilege to collaborate with and mentor.
