Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Greyson Campbell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Greyson thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about making remote work effective.
One of the great things about being a music producer in todays music industry is that I can work with clients all over the Globe. I have done demos for people from the Carolinas, from the New England area and even a few from over seas. Even if the client can’t be in the studio with me as I track and mix their song, it’s easier than ever to give feedback through email and zoom so they get every track sounding the way they want it every time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been a songwriter for the last 10 years and had the privilege of going to a few writers retreats in Nashville early into my writing career. Those retreats taught me how important it was to have quality demos that really highlight the songs I was writing, so I decided to study music production at college. In 2020 I graduated with both a music production degree, and a songwriting degree from Liberty University and moved to a small town just outside of Nashville TN. From there I started working as a producer making demos for songwriters and master recordings for artists. I really take pride in being able to provide high quality recordings for my clients that really show off their songs for a fair and affordable price.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
When I moved to Tennessee I worked a few different jobs, the first was with a moving company before I shifted to insurance sales, all while working as a worship leader at the church I attend. In 2023 I ended up losing the job at the insurance company and took on more responsibilities at the church. While it was a pretty scary time for my wife and I since this was a pretty big pay cut, looking back it is clear how God had his hand on the timing of all of this. Pretty quickly after these changes happened I started picking up more and more work from music production and could see the quality sky rocket in the songs I was producing as well as the songs I was writing.
Looking back this was clearly the turning point when I started to gain traction in my music career.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Nashville songwriters association international or, NSAI, has to be the resource that I am most grateful for since moving to Nashville. Not only do they help songwriters with song reviews, writing rooms, and mentoring, but for me it has also been an amazing place to help get plugged into this town. The folks at NSAI are incredibly kind, and know how to direct their members to help them to succeed. Whether that is helping you find a new writers round to play or connecting you with a writer they think you would work well with, I have NSAI to thank for so many amazing opportunities and relationships.
