We recently connected with Gregory Kopp and have shared our conversation below.

Gregory, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

My idea for my creative services business sprang from the personal computer revolution which transformed everyone’s lives and the way business was conducted. My company’s clients, including small non-profit organizations and the preeminent worldwide entertainment company based in Los Angeles are the driving force behind our success. Their energy and enthusiasm are infectious and translates to our exciting work relationships that are inspiring, fun, and ultimately successful for all involved. Kopp Company’s support for these dreamers allows them to share their talents and gifts with the world – making it a better place!! As a result, our company has been recognized with multiple business management consulting awards and praise from the business media.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

The creation of Kopp Company, follows a long line of entrepreneurs in my family. Kopp enterprises ranged from owning a restaurant during the depths of the Great Depression to the founding of a computer software firm during the height of the 1990’s dot-com explosion. Kopp Company now provides Human Capital, Enterprise Performance, Media & Entertainment, and Publishing Consulting Services that are designed to manage, reward, and engage our client’s talent to drive organization performance. Our business success allowed my artistic and creative aspects to blossom even further with the writing and publication of my exciting “Kopp Chronicles” series of historical fiction novels. This sweeping saga is based on my own immigrant American ancestor’s historical life experiences which spanned multiple continents, revolutionary upheavals, tragedy and ultimate triumph!

An exciting and joyful result of my writing is the recognition I receive from my readers, other authors, and publishing entities via social media and award programs; including “The Heiress in Kent” (volume 5) of the “Kopp Chronicles” which received glowing reviews in “Publishers Weekly”, an international news website for book publishing. “Kopp Chronicles” novels have been nominated for “Reader’s Choice Awards”, and recognized for “Book Cover of the Month.” Additionally, worldwide reader focused websites spotlight or feature my novels as their “Book of the Day” quite often. And I am proud to be an Amazon & Goodreads 5-Star Author!

I am also especially proud that the State of California public library systems added the “Kopp Chronicles” novels to their collections for their patrons to enjoy. Library patrons can now request the “Kopp Chronicles” novels in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Sacramento, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and many more libraries through a variety of digital platforms including Overdrive/Libby, Bibliotheca Cloud Library, and Hoopla digital. The “Kopp Chronicles” series of novels can also be requested in paperback by public library patrons worldwide through World Cat, a global catalog from over 28,000 libraries worldwide.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I have realized that the same events faced by me and my readers in our daily lives, also shaped our ancestors and the many historical royal and political figures throughout history. I try to incorporate some of these uncannily similar historical events into each of my stories intermingled with romance, mystery, and action-packed thrilling elements. With the advent of social distancing and remote work, I am able to share my deeply personal stories to my readers worldwide allowing us to experience a shared sense of history. My novels are now available in 5 different languages and in bookstores and libraries worldwide.

Kopp Company Publishing is also excited to introduce our new fantasy and metaphysical series of novels “The Adventures of the Miso Mice” from my collaborator Annette Czech Kopp! The first novel in the series introduces the reader to 5 very curious fantastical Miso Mice on their quest to find The Answer Book, given to them by a magical button found floating out of a treasure chest! It is available in major chain bookstores and independent bookshops worldwide. And it has also been featured as a Book of the Day, Book Cover of the Month with Amazon and Goodreads 5-star reviews. ” The Adventures of the Miso Mice” is also on Hoopla digital in major California libraries.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

My company’s use of social media marketing allowed me to determine which social media platforms are geared to certain audiences. My advice to writers is they should experiment with social media to determine which groups and readers cater to their particular genre. I have found the writing community on social media is amazingly supportive of new and emerging creative talent and will embrace novice writers with open arms.
