Hi Greg, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The story behind my mission is for me to fulfill my destiny as an all around creator in every field that I specialize in. When I do photoshoots, create my paintings, create my NFT collection or write, create & edit my short films; my mission is always the same with each of these categories & that’s to Create My Vision, bring it to the world & do so in a unique way that sets myself apart from other people. I want you all to look at my paintings or watch my short films and automatically know that this was done by Greg McCarthy Jr, because I execute my vision in all of my works with precision, dedication & hard work, but always with a message behind everything I put out.
I have 3 businesses: Viisionary Productions, Viisionary Arts & Viisionary NFT & my mission for each of my businesses are to bring my unique style in the production, art & NFT world that only I’m able to do. I also use my photo, video & editing skills to make videos for my art & NFT works, so I can bring a visual depiction of what each of my works stand for.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into the production film in August 2012 at Valdosta State University after transferring from Florida A & M University from Criminal Justice & Sociology minor, because there were parts of the law that I didn’t agree with & I’ve always loved movies & tv shows & thought I could create my own if I ever learned the craft. I graduated December 2014 with my bachelors in Mass Media & created Viisionary Productions August 3, 2016 as a freelance photographer & videographer. Viisionary Arts came October 28, 2020 & I’ve always sketched & painted since I was a boy, but now I create black conscious paintings with meaning, plus I also create clothes, doormats & soon custom painted shoes all under Viisionary Arts. Lastly, I created Viisionary NFT January 1, 2022, because I’ve become a great photoshop editor since Viisionary Productions was created & I wanted to try my hand at the new NFT wave that’s taken the world by storm these past few years.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come from expanding to 3 different types of businesses, all under the same Viisionary umbrella. From Fall 2016 up until now, I have done my own short film, many photography, videography & drone videos for clients. I’ve also created custom shirts, hoodies & doormats for people & very soon I will unveil my NFT collection! What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist & creative is executing your vision Precisely as you saw it in your head. There is Nothing more rewarding in your own business than to formulate your product, art, craft, etc. in your mind & use your skills you’ve acquired over the years to brings those ideas to reality exactly the way you want it. I’ve seen a few people in the production field only shoot the video or photos, but pay the money they got from clients & split it with someone who edits, because they didn’t want to learn or take the time to edit themselves. I learned over the years how to make mistakes & learn from them in order to get better & although any creative business we do will be time consuming, you have the knowledge to execute whatever your craft is or whatever you’re hired to do. The best advice is don’t be lazy when reaching your goals, because clients will see me as well rounded & versatile threat because I can shoot & edit both video & photos, create unique graphics for videos, create logos & NFT artwork, create painting, & custom doormats & clothes & shoes! All because I took 6 years to learn how to do these things so I could be the full package when a client is looking for a great creative mind to execute their goal.

The NFT market is a fluctuating, yet unique one. A lot of people don’t fully understand why people would put so much money into a photo, video, music or gif file, but it excites me as an artist & creator. I’m on the creator side of this question, so I am excited to slowly start rolling out my NFT collection to elevate my art & vision to greater heights! I also love this market, because there was always the stereotype of “being an artist doesn’t make you any money”, but now NFT’s can allow different variations of artists to post art that they’ve created and digitally sell it to someone who loves the work they’ve done & I’m all for it!
