We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Greg Kornowa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Greg, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later?
We found the franchise and are happy we started it when we did. We are into our second year and have developed a following from local residents and a couple of large corporate clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My wife found the Card My Yard Website while looking for something special to do for one of her college friend’s birthday. She booked a sign and after receiving a picture of the placed sign and the professionalism involved, she thought it would be worth looking into a franchise.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal in starting this franchise when I did is supplemental retirement income. The nice thing about this model is you can work at your own pace and grow your business to your liking. I have a sales background, so dealing with customers and taking care of their needs is something I definitely have experience in.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Our most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been people seeing our signs in front yards or in front of schools or businesses. Sometimes it makes sense for us to heavily coupon or have free sign contests on social media or even donating to school fundraisers. Any time we can get our names out or signs up to be view, it’s good for us.
