We recently connected with Greg Jemison and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Greg thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name Nubian Serenity comes from my understanding the importance if embracing what makes me who I am as a person of color. It also displays the importance of embracing ones blackness and finding peace with in ourselves by holding on and loving who we are as a people.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an Atlanta native and have always been a hard working man, working a 9 to 5 like most people. One day it just hit me that I needed to do something different; maybe do something to make a difference and help others and that’s when I decided that I wanted to become a massage therapist. It was a quick decision I felt I needed to act on immediately so I enrolled in Gwinnett College and became a certified neuromuscular massage therapist. I feel like it was the best decision I ever made.
Once I received my certification I began working for a few well known spas in the Atlanta area and once I got my clientele up I decided it was time to work for myself. I have been a massage therapist for 8 years now.
Since I started working for myself, I made a point to enhance my skills and upskill myself by taking continuing ed classes to make sure that I can offer my clients multiple services. Some of the services I offer are Swedish, deep tissue, cupping, trigger point, hot stone, aroma therapy massage, and stretching.
What sets me apart from most is that I make It my mission to make you feel better than you did when you walked in. I am invested in my clients. I asked probing questions to get a picture of what their problem areas are and we work together to fix them. I also offer suggestions on what they can do at home to make the results more beneficial in the long run.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe that giving the customer exactly what they expect has helped me build my reputation. Whatever issue they come in with it’s my aim to try and alleviate that issue. I feel like that being in tune with my clients goes a long way with building your reputation as a business.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I would have to say word of mouth first and Google second, which so far seem to be the most effective way for my gaining new clients
