We recently connected with Greg Hain and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
After many different jobs, an overall career skill set as a Creative Designer, and several small entrepreneurial ventures I found myself constantly trying to figure out what it was that I was going to do. I felt like there were so many potential options. I felt like I was meant to create something big. I regularly asked myself, “What am I meant to do?”
With a variety of different paths in my past and present I was mysteriously called to deep study in a number of areas that were previously unknown to me. Through this ongoing process, I dove into spirituality, esoteric knowledge and more. My awareness of the limitless possibilities of our “reality” continued to grow. My meditations went to a whole new level and I began conscious dream travel, and many other modalities to tap into as much as I could.
One of my teachers taught me about the “spiritual” elevator pitch. I was instructed that while traveling in the other realms, we often get the chance to meet higher level beings. Much like that important & short ride an entrepreneur has to concisely interest a potential investor or partner, I was told to be ready for these encounters with “One Great Question.”
Over the course of several years, I continued to run into what could be called “eternal” beings and asked a variety of questions. Each time I would learn a lesson and refine my question for the next adventure. Finally the moment arrived when I crossed paths with a being who represented my higher self. In that moment, somehow I asked the exact right question and he smiled so big and waved his hand somewhat like a magician. It was as though the genie had granted my wish and I began to drift back to myself, through the dark space surrounded by large, blue packets of energy. Softly falling back toward my body, to my bed and my physical life, these packets of energy were valuable information for my path and a new clarity immediately set in.
I woke up and with full inspiration and precision, I completely cleared my office and covered all the walls, up and down, with the entire plan for ENLTN (enlighten).
Greg, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
ENLTN is in the industry of edutainment more than anything. Finding an efficient and entertaining way to help educate people about knowing themself and connecting with their most authentic and optimal life. The pillars of our organization were put together through the various experiences and influences of my life.
The most important foundational pillar is love. Unconditional love. Love to and from family. Romantic love. Love as a way of being. And the realization that we must truly love ourself before we can fully love others. The other pillars combine curiosity (life long learning), excellence (commitment & discipline), truth (acceptance & non judgement), creativity (beauty in all its forms), adventure (openness, imagination, presence), Joy (gratitude, fulfillment, positivity).
Our aim is put these magical ways of being into the content that we create, produce & publish: Books, Videos, Games, Courses, Coaching, Films and whatever else is yet to come. The goal is to efficiently guide you on your journey to enlightenment – which equates to compassion, unity, and a balanced life with a higher frequency of existence. All with a bit of fun along the way.
Portions of our creations are focused on the individual’s specific path (books, coaching, courses) and other aspects are made to demonstrate the archetypal journey we all can go through (games, films, etc.)
This focus developed from a life long pursuit of excellence in several areas including athletics, art, music, design, acting, research and self realization. Through decades of ongoing study of the masters in many walks of life and lessons from my own life experience, I continually journaled of success, defeat, bliss and heartbreak, Eventually I began to log my data and create systems that could be applied to a Human’s process of creating their own reality. Thus came one of the courses about becoming the Main Character in Your Life Movie.
We hope to empower you to live your most optimal life through modern methods based in the structures of ancient wisdom. We may begin by helping you answer the questions: What character do I want to be in this life and what do I want to experience? For some it may be experiential and move on to providing support, tools and / or partnership (through our network) to help bring that dream into reality. For others is may be intellectual through learning new ways to perceive your place in this world as an infinite being, and establish your connection to all that is beyond words.
As fantastical or magical as I may write about it, the core of most of the techniques and proven possibilities lies with modern day science & performance (brain hemisphere syncing, transcendental meditation) and wisdom that’s been passed down through the ages. ENLTN explores the most appropriate and enjoyable manners to help as many people as possible create their optimal reality.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
It seems that resilience is the most necessary fuel for any creator or entrepreneur. The others like motivation, funding, space, time, team, etc., can often come and go through the years. But with the energy inside of oneself to stay committed to share your unique vision with the world, anything is possible. It is often after some form of challenge, like a computer crash losing vital info, an unexpected financial emergency throwing off the budget, or the sudden loss of a teammate, when a new solution is revealed- as long as you keep going. As the band Journey sings, “Don’t Stop Believing.”
There are countless stories of businesses that have skyrocketed to success and then plummeted shortly after. Stories of creators and owners who are at the peak of their niche and still unhappy. And others who are still on the grind to get their first product to market and are loving every minute of it. Regardless of the external world and our individual results, I feel that one’s heart and internal compass is the most important. So no matter what happens we can make the best choices for our time here with clarity and balance.
After 15+ years of research. development, design and testing, I was a month and a half away from a first product offering when all my main social accounts were instantly cancelled overnight. This was a crippling blow to the product launch, as well as all my contacts and accounts. The launch was wildly unsuccessful without the ability to notify many networks I’d built up through my diverse life. While the social media cancelling and failure to launch were both heartbreaking, they allowed me personal insights that have been extremely valuable. Much of ENLTN’s content is based in the process of Alchemy. Taking something that is commonly discarded or unwanted and turning it into something precious. The gems that came with that failure, and many others over the years, have invited me to a stronger belief in self – as well as smarter data management. Sometimes if we can take a challenge and look at it from the exact opposite way and dive in even deeper, it can turn out to be rewarding in ways we’d never imagined.
The product offering is currently being upgraded and prepared for a new and improved launch shortly. With the strength of a mailing list, a more appropriate offer and new integrations, it may have considerably more reach and shelf life than ever before.
A key point in a lot of my considerations is the idea that timing is everything. In regards to resilience, sometimes that little reminder is enough to tell us to take a break, speed up to hit an opening, or loosen up a bit and it can work even better at a later date.
Ultimately, we have to believe in ourself if we want anyone else to.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Study has been a constant for me throughout my life. Reading, audio tapes in the car, YouTube videos, courses, seminars, workshops, on and on, since being introduced many decades ago. I remember riding in my dad’s “company car” when I was a kid and I noticed he had these plastic trays filled with cassette tapes. I was always a music fan so I was curious as to what he was listening to. My dad’s personal development, cassette courses was where I was first exposed to the idea of living up to one’s true potential. Starting with Earl Nightingale and the Nightingale-Conant library, to Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Wayne Dyer and many more, all leading up to Tony Robbins.
My curiosity keeps me a lifelong student even as I coach and teach others. The ability to help share the knowledge when we can is fundamental to the mission of ENLTN. After digesting volumes of perspectives from many peak performance coaches I began to formulate my own philosophy and continue to publish that through the ENLTN content.
The library and the book store have served as my best friends through all the ups and downs, new ideas, new cities and new eras. Some of the most powerful and all time favorites are: The Bhagavad Gita, The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The Kyballion by the Three Initiates, The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall, and I have been largely assisted and impacted by the works of Alan Watts, Osho and Tony Robbins.
