We were lucky to catch up with Greg Collins Jr recently and have shared our conversation below.
Greg, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Born in the city of Chicago, but now repping his hometown of Joliet, IL, Greg Collins jr, better known as RealyungG found his love for music early. After many years of enjoying the music his parents exposed him to, G decided to start rapping at the age of 14. He is no stranger to making music, dropping his first album “Introduction of Yung G” back in 2009. Since then, RealYungG has released 10+ projects and toured all over the US. /since 2017 he has gained noteriety and developed a fan base for his unorthodox flow and unforgettable hooks. Steadily progressing, RealyungG has not only built the YGN brand (Yung Greatness Nation) but also a strong network of industry connections while remaining an independent artist with no major outside funding.

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is people contacting to my music my music helping others get through hard times or people relating to my music. The ability to change peoples lives/touch people in ways that other people can’t last but not least the most rewarding part is the fact that my music can inspire others to chase their dreams,

One lesson I had to unlearn is not to take things personal when it comes to the music business. I had to separate my personal from the business. Reason I say that because your personal feelings can interfere with getting business deals done that can help advance your career keep your respect intact but also be smart enough to know when to not let your pride get in the way that can help advance your career.
