Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Greed, The Artist. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Greed,, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always been fascinated with art. I would draw all the time, trying to learn how to draw my favorite video game characters at the time, or doodle in general. Then I learned about Leonardo Da Vinci. I was fascinated with his paintings. I wanted to grow up and paint just like him. But then I found anime. My 13-year-old self was amazed at how there were so many other stories that were being told with all this outstanding art. Ever since I’ve found my path, I want to chase it into the distant future, creating art along the way.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Greed, The Artist. To some, my name is a deterrent due to the fact that the word Greed has some negative meaning to most. But to me, Greed is who I am as a creative. The full definition is: an excessive, extreme desire for something, often more than one’s proper share. As a creative, I want to learn it all, no matter how long it takes. With that in mind, I often work solo due to how odd my drive for creation is. I often work days with little to no sleep, or the amount of volume of work that I produce. I give myself the title “One Man Army.” For the fact that all the work I do is alone and without a team: Paint, Design, Photography, Film, Fashion, and Illustration. I don’t wait around. I get it done. My art is a reflection of my mind and soul. A piece of my art is a piece of my own identity.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, it’s the reactions and emotions I get from others. Seeing others enjoy the art I create or even get influenced by is one of the best feelings I get as an artist. The reactions I get show that I made an impact on their mind. And for me, as a creative, that’s all I want is for others to enjoy what I create since it’s a part of my soul.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
We only get one shot at this lifetime, and I don’t want to waste it working a boring 9-5. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking those who enjoy doing that, but that’s not for me. I don’t want to waste any moment of my life doing something I hate; that’s your own personal hell at that point. I would rather be broke and creating art and live with the bare minimum than have a steady job and hate waking up every morning, dreading going to work.
