We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Grayson Fox a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Grayson thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The project most meaningful to me is the short film titled “Chuck and Fern.” It means a lot to me because for one video games means a lot to me personally, and also I can relate to having seen my parents go through a divorce.
Grayson , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
How you got into industry? The story of I got started is quite interesting. Since we were experiencing changes in our family, my mom was looking for different after school activities to keep me busy. She did not want me playing video games all the time. LOL.
She came across a post on IG for a 9 year old Afro Latino Boy who loves video games. My mom asked me if I was interested in auditioning for the part of the boy for a short film and I said YES! We responded to the ad, auditioned for the part, and booked the short film the same day.
What sets you apart from others?
I’ve never had any formal training as an actor. Everything I have worked on thus far has been on feeling and raw emotion.
What are you most proud of?
The movie will help other kids who are experiencing the pains that come with divorce and changes in the family.
What do you want your fans to know?
What I want people to know about me is that I love helping children and I want to help them feel like they are not alone.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to use my gifts to help other kids going through similar situations.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Today you are YOU, that is Truer than true.

that is youer than YOU! – Dr. Seuss
