We recently connected with Grayson Ferencik and have shared our conversation below.
Grayson, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Motocross In the eyes of a rider is one of the coolest sports and activities, however in the eyes of a fan, it can seem easy and less interesting than other sports. Our goal at JetBoy Co. is to show how cool riding dirt bikes is and we do so through our content. We want to leave a legacy in the dirt bike world as a brand that helped move and build the industry bigger. One video, one event, one promotional ad at a time we are aiming to build the thing dirt bike riders love, bigger and better.

Grayson, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi Y’all, I am Grayson Ferencik aka JetBoy. I am a dirt bike rider with an obsessive passion for motocross, dirt bikes, and traveling in my self converted dirt bike van. With family who rides dirt bikes, it was only natural for me to be introduced to dirt bikes at a very young age and 23 years later here I am. My love and passion for two wheels led me into starting JetBoy Co. a dirt bike lifestyle brand aimed at growing the dirt bike community. At JetBoy Co. we create both POV and lifestyle content around dirt bikes as we want to spread the love we have for dirt bikes to others around the world. What sets JetBoy Co. apart from the rest is that we a relatable brand to the riders who aspire to be better riders and through our content we show the things we do to be a “student to the game” and we aim to inspire other riders todo the same. We take influence from other action sports like snowboarding and skateboarding to mold our dirt bike videos into something fun and relatable to watch. Whether you’re into learning more about riding dirt bikes or just enjoy watching dirt bike related content, JetBoy Co. is hub for your dirt bike lifestyle cravings.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
This question hits home because JetBoy Co. is the result of a pivot made in life. While I was in my first job out of college, I found myself in a tough spot, I realized 9-5 was my new normal, working endlessly or working harder didn’t mean more money in my pocket, and having bosses who I did not like only made each day more stressful. I wanted out BAD, I needed to get back to my roots, the things I enjoyed doing growing up, I wanted to be my own boss and make my own money. If the people online could do it, why couldn’t I? That is when I decided I would turn my passion or as I would like to call it, my full time hobby, into a profession and start a small business to eventually take me out of the corporate world. In this moment, JetBoy Co was born and since then it’s been the best thing I could have done.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I will be honest in saying I started JetBoy Co. social media as a place to post dirt bike content regularly without it being on my personal page. I had a stigma in my head that I shouldn’t flood my personal feed with daily motocross content and should use my personal page for big highlights or cool things. This of course was wildly incorrect and led me down a path of blending Jetboy and jetboyco into one, instead of having a personal brand and a business brand. What I did learn and do during this period was post a variety of different content on a daily basis, using each post as a building block for the next, which helped me tailor the content I make and find what Im good at creating. While I am still a small creator, my ambitions are big which has helped me persevere the lows and strive during the highs. This mindset helped me build an audience around the dirt bike lifestyle and create a community of like minded people.
For all of the aspiring creators, there are two big things id recommend. The first being start creating content from your camera roll and aim small, 3 posts a week. As you get better, create more and do it more frequently; its incredibly hard to post daily content right out of the gate, you’ll get overwhelmed so quickly trying to match what you see others doing. That brings me to my second point which is one I still work on to this day, create more and consume less. The more time you spend creating, the more you’ll grow and the more results you’ll see.
