Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Grant Pogosyan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Grant, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Yes, I’ve been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, though it wasn’t always like that from the start. The journey began when I dropped out of high school to pursue homeschooling while attending college. Initially, I freelanced, and it took time to build my client base. One major milestone was gaining confidence in my skills without relying on formal education. Along the way, I focused on self-education, practical experience, and providing great value to clients. If I could speed up the process, I’d probably have networked more early on. Relationships and personal connections have been key to my success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Grant Pogosyan, a Creative Director and Designer who founded Grantedesigns™. My passion for graphic design began at a young age when I got my hands on Photoshop. From there, I’ve built my brand by self-educating through platforms like YouTube and real-world experience. My company focuses on creating visually compelling brands, offering services such as logo design, brand identity, web design, and marketing materials. What sets me apart is my journey—learning independently and crafting unique solutions that help businesses tell their stories through innovative design.
I’m most proud of the brands I’ve helped elevate. Each one has allowed me to bring meaningful change to how they are perceived, whether through logos, websites, or digital campaigns. The thing I want potential clients and followers to know is that I am dedicated to building strong, aesthetically appealing brands that stand out in the marketplace. My process is deeply collaborative, and I approach each project with a mix of passion and strategy to ensure the best results.
I want people to understand that, even without a formal degree, it’s possible to succeed by focusing on passion, persistence, and the power of continuous learning. Through Grantedesigns™, I aim to make design dreams come true and help businesses thrive visually.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One pivotal moment in my journey that illustrates my resilience occurred after I dropped out of high school to pursue homeschooling. Transitioning into the freelance world was challenging, especially without a formal degree. There were times I struggled to find clients, doubted my abilities, and felt overwhelmed by the competition.
Instead of giving up, I focused on building my portfolio, leveraging social media to showcase my work, and networking with other creatives. Over time, my persistence paid off as I began to attract clients who valued my unique perspective and creativity. This experience taught me that resilience and adaptability are essential in overcoming obstacles and achieving success in the creative field.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
One aspect non-creatives might struggle to understand is the emotional investment involved in the creative process. Unlike traditional jobs, creativity can be deeply personal, where every design reflects part of the designer’s identity and values.
When a project doesn’t resonate with clients or when feedback is harsh, it can feel like a personal failure. This emotional rollercoaster requires resilience and self-compassion. Recognizing that creativity is a journey of exploration and growth, rather than just a series of products, is crucial for understanding the mindset of creatives.
