We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Grant Fithen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Grant , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with important influences in our lives. Is there a historical figure you look up to?
There are a few historical figures I look up to. I can only speak on this for myself, but above all else is Jesus Christ. The way he lived for others and spoke the unfiltered truth inspires me to live a life of sacrifice.
Other historical figures who have had a smaller, yet still noticeable impact on me would be Marcus Aurelius and Steve Prefontaine.
Marcus had a hunger for wisdom and a will to lead well. Steve Prefontaine had the biggest heart for competition that I have ever found, and the hardest work ethic to match.
These may not be music industry gurus, but the values they held and lived by trancend industries.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My company is Loud and Heavy Booking and we are musicians for musicians. We book musicians across the U.S. and host hundreds of live music events a year.
I am proud to say that Loud and Heavy Booking is going above and beyond to help out our music scene. We believe in helping promote as well, and being a staple resource for musicians to get professional shows and promotion to grow their fanbase. I believe Loud and Heavy is promoting harder than most, and is helping our music scene stand out.
We stand out in our field because we will go the extra mile to help others and we do so out of a genuine place of support. I love my team and together we have been able to help some awesome artists.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We support our artists in every possible way we know how. Our artists have been very grateful and see that we have a genuine heart to help. Many artists see the value we provide with promoting and that helps them trust that we are in this together to put on great shows.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Encourge innovation and encourage having your employees speak up in times of decision making. The lost art of giving workers a bonus for hard work is sadly uncommon. It is your job as a leader to motovate and train, but also to be open to the ideas of the team.
Having a heart for your team is huge. You should focus on growing them individually and setting them up for where their career could take them. Not just getting your needs done.
