Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Grande Zee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Grande, thanks for joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I made was buying my own at home studio, I like to record in bunches & the amount of music I’ve recorded probably would have me in debt lol. Being able to record at home is a big flex to me, if I think of a song when I wake up I can literally roll over and record a song if I want to. During covid when the world was on lockdown I was able to record a plethora of music. its much more of a relax feeling knowing I’m not on anyone else’s time & being that I know how to edit I don’t have to worry about someone giving me the bare minimum on my mix. I feel like a lot of so called engineers are in it solely for the money so they put together a mix just to get paid & you may never get what you’re looking for versus someone who’s heart into it they’re going to give you the best quality. My advice to any artist or creator definitely invest into your own setup at home & when you travel you can take it with you.

Grande, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Im grande zee born & raised in burke county Ga its a small town but full of talent & go getters, one thing bout my city we gone get us some money. I rap & create content & make my own merch on the side, I mix & edit my own music & I make my own clothes. I’ve been rapping for quite some time no cap, it used to be my dream it still is but these days I use it as my therapy. Instead of putting it in a diary or getting a therapist I put my feelings & emotions into music & share it with the world. What sets me apart? Everything. My sound & flow is mine & not mimicked by another artist, it’s even more unique because 99% of my music is freestyled & very versatile. There isn’t a genre I cant do & there isn’t many beats I cant slide on. I’m proud anytime someone shares my work online, I’m proud when people approach me wearing my merch or reciting a song of mine. Im proud when I check my streams & got over 2 million streams independently, mind you I’m from a small town but thanks to the internet my music is global. Some of the things I’ve accomplished still have me mind blown at times but its from hard work & God.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goals is to live a comfortable & wealthy life, to be viewed as one of the best artists to grace a mic. The mission is I cant fail Kamon, that’s my nephew. He views me as his famous larger than life uncle lol. The love he has for me keeps me going, I want to be able to be that person he sees me as & I cant let him down. There are plenty of days where I want to ball up in my room & disappear from the world but I hear his voice in my head telling people his uncle famous & who am I to deprive him of that leisure?!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
That the people you love will be your biggest supporters. I have strangers that support me more than my own family, I’ve sold more merch in other places than I did in my hometown. It used to get to me but I focused more on the ones supporting versus the ones that aren’t. If you worry about what people think you’re going to find yourself in a dead end & them folk still will carry on with the same notions, so do what you love & you’re going to eventually find people that like what you do.
