We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Grace Quarshie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Grace, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
On August 31st 10am, I was called into a meeting by my boss and in that meeting I was told I am part of 200 people who are going yo be laid of on that day. Before that there had been a rumour about a massive redundancy process that would happen in the organisation I was working and little did I know that I was part of it. Knowing how I have worked and have received an award a year before as a Start performar,it never crossed my mind that i was going to be part of the 200 people. But I remember sweating in an air-conditioned room as my supervisor and an officer from HR were discussing about the redundancy process and package. I asked myself I hope this is not a dream and if it is then Lord please wake me up because it’s a nightmare. But oh no it was real and as I walked out of the door of the meeting room I felt I had enter a tunnel with no end and it was full of darkness what just happened shook me up I have lost a job and a banking career of over 4 years.
After 3 months of losing my job and mourning every day of those 3 months I decided to come out of that state of confusion and darkness, I consoled myself with prayers to God and with his help the help of my husband and close friends I was able to have some joy and with tears still in my eyes.
I decided to join my husband at his place of assignment in another country (Togo) to support him as a resident Pastor after a failed bakery business.
It was at one of our Sunday Church Service that a woman from Nigeria approached me and shared with me a business called Network Marketing which I have heard before but never thought of doing it.
I asked her to give me some time to think about it and after spending one month carefully considering this business I decided to give it a try for the following reasons:
1. I could earn income again
2. I love the type of products ( daily consumables eg toothpaste)I can use and share with
my friends and if they also use it both of us can get paid in that chain of distributorship.
3. I loved the business aspect of the business where I can empower people to also earn extra income or start their own business by introducing the products to family and friends.
4. I loved the fact that I would be talking and relating to people by way of giving them some good and helping them build their financial freedom.
5. I love the fact that I can qualify for international trips, houses, brand-new cars and so many incentives.
On 9th November 2016 I registered my Network Marketing Business and started using the products with my family and friends, we feel in love with the products and were happy to invite other friends and family and their friends to join our new found adventure. It was not up to 2 months when I stated receiving bank alerts of income this sparked something in me.
I got myself a notebook and started strategizing and researching into how I can make my business big and earn more money and incentives. That was when I discovered that:
1. To become successful in the business I needed to tell more people about the product and how good and effective it was.
2. I have to train my team members since anyone you introduce the business too can become a distributor in your team and the more sales made they earn and you earn so I dived deep into training and support every member of my team.
After 7 months of being in the business I raised a power team of 3000 and by the end of the year my team members and I qualify for an international trip and I qualify for a brand new car worth 12,000 dollars and earning my monthly salary in two weeks. Me and my team qualified for so many other awards and I visited over 8 international countries building a successful Network Marketing Business from Africa.
The rest they say is always history,
During building my Network Marketing Business I noticed that any time I talk to people I can inspire them to take action and a lot of women were inspired by how i lost my job and built a successful business. They started asking me to coach them to build their confidence and find their purpose in life, this was how I started my coaching business after doing a certified coaching program online and writing my first book “I Kissed My Job Goodbye ”
I deep dive again into personal development to develop the gifts and skills I have identified doing my network marketing business one of them was my public speaking skills.
In 2020 March during the COVID-19 pandemic I stated my coaching business online Prime Wealthway Consult now Global Life Empowerment Academy Limited and I have help over 500 women to build self confidence and overcome fear and self-sabotage to start their own businesses by monetizing their expertise and experience becoming coaches themselves, public speakers and authors.
I have never looked back after I lost my job to start my business idea because when you are able to discover a gifts, skills and experience that can solve a problem for many people hoping to step into entrepreneurship and inspire others to take action this makes me feel fulfilled and seeing all the women I have trained turn out to be global brands.

Grace, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
