Golden C, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
Chateau Carter Originals LLC, was formed in March 2021 as as a Creative Outlet, to Showcase my childhood love for Self-expression & Imagery, particularly Logos, that compliment Fashion, and also to help Narrate my Personal Journeys; in Addition, to Break the monotony of just Punching a Clock day in, day out, and not Honing in on my own Passions….
Golden C, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For Starters, I’m a 46-year-old Married Father of 1 Daughter, originally from Chester City & Philadelphia, PA. Born into a Family & Community of Hustlers & Entrepreneurs, It’s almost like Destiny in a sense, to follow in the Line of those who’ve created and Established their own Side Businesses before myself, and to take pride in believing that anything is Possible, regardless of circumstance; Chateau Carter Originals, focuses on being an Alternative yet reasonable Brand of Unisex Streetwear that’s both Budget and Family-Friendly, while maintaining an Anytime, Anywhere kind of Feel.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The first Life-changing pivot for Me, was February 22, 1994, the Day that Changed EVERYTHING; at Age 15 and Freshman year of High School, I suffered a near-debilitating injury to my right Hip, that led up to a Diagnosis of a Congenital Medical Condition called SCFE (Slipped Capital Femoral Ephysis), that affects the Growth Plates in the Pelvic Area, causing loosening of the Head of the Femur. From then Until November 2016, I endured 7 Major Surgeries, 2 Total Hip Replacements, Years of Grueling Physical Rehab, missing out on learning how to Drive at 16, First Dates, Hanging out with Friends, etc. So most of my Adolescent Years were spent Incapacitated and Learning how to Walk and be somewhat “Normal” again….. Today, You’d never know I went through all of that.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Understand, this: IT TAKES MONEY, FOCUS, DETERMINATION, SELF-CONFIDENCE, SACRIFICE, AND A WHOLE LOT OF SCREEN TIME ON SOCIAL MEDIA, to do what I and many other Creatives do, just to get someone to Notice, Like, Share, Comment, or Pique the smallest amount of interest, in our Services. There’s going to be Ups and Downs, Yes/No Moments, Months where You’ll get NO SALES or WEBSITE HITS, AT ALL!!!! It’s all about Ebb & Flow, and Staying the Course.
