We recently connected with Godswill Uche Obah and have shared our conversation below.
Godswill Uche, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
I have really always wanted a Channel where i could express myself, i tried with entertainment companies like Nickelodeon where i ran a fandom based for them but didn’t do so well cus there were lots of competition and i didn’t have the equipment or studio gadgets to make things happen so i gave up, then in 2021 i discovered an entertainment channel with small fandom but has great trending shows with cool actor’s, and along the way i decided to go further, i started interviewing the actors and i enjoyed talking to them, i loved what i was doing so i continued to do it, posting on Youtube and Instagram, you can never know until you have tried that’s one thing i have learnd.
Godswill Uche, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Am just a guy from Nigeria who loves pop culture, am also a web developer and i run a Fan base for a company like Nickelodeon called Brat Tv, on my Youtube Channel called Brat Universe i do reviews based on the shows that Brat Tv releases, i interview the cast of each show to get them to share there experiences as a young or old actor/actress.
I am proud of what i have achieved so far, i have talked with amazing people i have grown a fan base and it’s not easy trust me, instagram have closed my fan account once which almost made me want to give up, but giving up is not an option.
Trust me you will love Brat Tv shows especially if you are a teenager, our contents and there’s targets Gen z’s.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Funny, like I said giving up is not an option, I remembered one time when I was late to my interview because of traffic, I was late cus I work a 9 to 5 job and have to do my interviews at night because being in a different time zone with LA.
The day of this interview I was to interview this young actress Jasmin Tatyana Brown who appeared on a Brat Tv show called Crownlake, on my way back knowing that am late I had to message her and be honest about my situation, surprisingly she told me to be calm that day and just make it home that she is waiting, she was nice and kind, my point in telling you this story is to let you know that in whatever you do, honesty matters a lot, just be yourself.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes a lot, first thing first please just start with what you have, don’t wait to have more before you start, that’s the biggest mistake i have ever made in this journey, i wish i had someone like me who would have told me bro just start don’t wait for anything, if you are doing any businesses don’t let people tell you otherwise, just start it up, if you fail you get up and try again or try someting new.
