Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Glory Rodriguez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Glory, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
My family has always “played it safe”; they encouraged me to go the common route of going to college and getting a secure job. Taking risks has never been my forte, but a little voice inside me said “why not me” when I kept thinking about going through the creative routine. A normal 9-5 job that could have made my family proud and supported them financially was a guilty decision I had to make because a people pleaser like myself had to make a choice either to make everyone happy and proud of the easy route OR pursue my dreams as a creative, knowing I gave it everything and not have any regrets when im older…….. So I listened to the tiny voice.

Glory, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Glory, short for Gloriana. Born in Costa Rica but have been raised most of my life in Dallas. If I am not creating or entertaining I usually am training martial arts
at the gym
gardening
cooking
reading a book.
I sell my artwork and an actress on the side.
I believe the thing that sets me apart and makes me different is my ability to learn from my mistakes,my grit, discipline, and constant need for growth. Fun Fact that I self taught myself how to paint and create. A LOT of trial and error.
My artwork revolves around surrealism, spirituality , and diverse dimensions. I love when people stare at my art and makes them think deeper about life. Seeing life through my lense.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Managing ADHD is a battle many humans struggle with in today’s world, and books have always been my medicine to help slow my mind. I have a list of books that not only changed my perspective on life but also educated me in developing myself to a better vision. There are 4 books that are the foundation to my everyday life.
1, ‘The Alchemist’ (Paulo Coelho) is a fiction book that tells a story of a boy in his journey through life and the beauty within the struggle. It gives hope and faith to what the universe has for you.
2, Mastermind (Napoleon Hill) is a memoir of a journey through Napoleon’s thoughts and experiences. Napoleon is a very successful businessman that with his philosophy on success and with his own failings, has constructed many beautiful books that bring a massive amount of knowledge about mastering yourself and the world around you. I find Napoleon to be a very intelligent man and a huge fan of all his books.
3, Think like a Monk (Jay Shetty) is an educational book on how Jay, a former Monk, learned how to “think like a monk” so he passed on his knowledge in his book with an insight of his journey along the way. He has mentioned many guided meditations and ideologies that have changed my inner light to shine brighter than before because I see the world in a different lens. After you read this book, you cannot unthink what he has shared. You start incorporating it into your life like it was meant to be.
4, Grit (Angela Duckworth) an educational book on finishing what you start. A study on success of individuals and achievements. Achievements do not always have to be talent or ‘genius’ traits, but passion and persistence. This book reminds me to just keep going and finish what you start but with passion of course.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is quite simple and clear, have people admire my work and be a multi-functional artist. What I mean as a multi-functional artist, being able to be of service to the world. Philanthropist and mentor to make this world a better place with the knowledge and nurturing mind I can provide.
