We were lucky to catch up with Glory Ebinama recently and have shared our conversation below.
Glory, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In August 2021, I took a leap of faith by leaving Maryland for Los Angeles, seeking personal growth and adventure outside my comfort zone. After three years in corporate, I yearned to make a direct impact in the community through nonprofit work. Landing a role as a program coordinator at Reading Partners, a children’s literacy program, proved deeply fulfilling.
Although I initially hesitated to pursue modeling due to portfolio concerns (I was informed by my peers that I had a lot of portfolio to showcase, however, I doubted myself), encouragement from my roommate and creative endeavors during the pandemic in Maryland bolstered my confidence. In December of 2021, I decided to apply to 3 agencies as a start. At this time of the month, I was also traveling to Nigeria to visit family.
While visiting family in Nigeria, an unexpected email from my current agent led to an interview and, ultimately, representation. Embracing opportunities, I’ve found a balance between nonprofit work and modeling in LA, realizing that seizing unexpected chances can lead to rewarding paths of growth and fulfillment.
Now I am back working in corporate with an amazing team and making an impact in different ways, while also modeling. Balancing both worlds and growing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Glory, a Nigerian-American (born in Nigeria) with a passion for creativity and project management. While studying Marketing in college, I discovered my knack for social media, but it wasn’t where my heart truly lay. Through internships, I stumbled into program and project management, finding my niche. However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that my creative side truly flourished. Long working hours from home left me craving an outlet, and when a friend asked me to model for a makeup test shoot, I found my passion ignited. From collaborating with photographers to styling shoots and even directing creative concepts, I embraced every aspect of the process. This journey not only allowed me to explore my creativity but also pushed me out of my introverted shell, opening doors to new connections and opportunities. Taking a leap to Los Angeles was the next step in my adventure, embracing change and growth. Become a model and also enjoying my job working in the creative industry. Best of two worlds!
Remember, it’s about seizing opportunities and taking that leap, no matter how uncertain it may seem. Your passions can lead you to unexpected places, so embrace them fearlessly and see where they take you.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to express myself authentically and share my unique perspective with the world. Being able to create something from my imagination and seeing it come to life can bring immense joy and fulfillment. Plus, the opportunity to connect with others through my art and evoke emotions or inspire change is incredibly rewarding. Ultimately, being an artist allows me to make a meaningful impact and leave a lasting legacy through my creativity.
