We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Glory! a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Glory!, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
“My mother always spoke her mind—whether it was good or bad, she let people know exactly where she stood. If she loved something, she’d tell you why; if she didn’t, you’d hear about that too. Growing up around that kind of honesty taught me to value clear communication. I also remember her being deeply engaged in conversations about politics and the issues she cared about. She showed me how powerful your voice can be when used with purpose and how important it is to stand up for what you believe in.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Glory, and I’m an artist from South Carolina. I got into music because of my big brother—he used to go to the studio when we were younger, and I begged him to take me with him. Eventually, he did, and ever since then, music’s been my world. I’m especially proud of my last album, The Fallen Angelo. It was a deeply personal project where I was able to reflect, vent, and speak on issues affecting our community. The title itself has meaning—‘Angelo’ is the Italian masculine form of ‘angel,’ which felt symbolic to me. I really put my heart into it, and I can see how much I’ve grown—from my rhyme schemes to the emotion, the structure, and the consistency of my work.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is financial freedom, creative freedom, and the ability to take care of everyone I love. I want to use my music to not only elevate myself but to uplift my family and community. I see myself touring the world, connecting with people through my art, and winning Grammys—not just for the recognition, but because it would mean my message reached hearts globally. That’s the legacy I’m building.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of making music is seeing people connect with it, especially when I’m performing and the crowd sings my lyrics back to me. That energy is unreal. I also love the recording process, especially that moment when I listen back to a track for the first time. There’s something magical about hearing your thoughts and emotions turned into sound.
