We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gloria Ward a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Gloria , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In my opinion, being successful is all about fully committing to something you love all while serving others. It’s not all about monetary gain. In the beginning of my business journey it was all about making money. Money meant freedom. I did everything I could to make sure I stayed free. What I realized is that even though I could call my own shots, I was not growing. I liked what I did but I didn’t do it because I loved it. I was so focused on the money I didn’t realize the true impact I was making.
It wasn’t until I started falling in love with what I did that i realize true freedom comes with being of service.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Gloria Ward. I am a Entrepreneur, Revenue Strategist, Tedx Speaker and new thought leader. I got into the transformation and peak performance industry as a result of my own personal experience. Being a career oriented woman who thought they had it all together only to find out that I suffered from so many insecurities and wasn’t living the life I really wanted to live, it made me think how many other women were going through the same thing. What I discovered is a lot of women have a internal struggle with self love because we always put other first. We were taught to do that. That is how you get your “Good Woman” badge. What I help women solve is you don’t have to put yourself last and burn yourself out in order to get the badges you think you deserve. It is only when you start to fill your cup up and love on yourself that you can pour into others and change your communities. The I’m Loving Me Project is about figuring out who you really are through our educational products, workshops, and events and creating a blueprint of how you want your life to be so you can becoming truly who you are in every area of your life.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn is waiting on someone to come and save me in my business. In the early years when I was building, I always complained about why things wasn’t working out for me. Why people who say they want help didn’t take it. What I had to realize is that people are going to be people. People are going to choose what they want and you can’t get upset if they don’t choose you. You have to continuously put yourself out there and find those who are looking for what you have to offer and be okay if that is one, two, or three people. We get so caught up in thinking someone has to come along and just hand us success but it doesn’t work that way. You have to grow into it. There are a lot of things you need to learn along the way to be qualified to do what you do. The biggest lesson I learned is that when you do, the sky’s the limit.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The biggest strategy that helped me grow my clientele is being my authentic self. Most Entrepreneurs believe that you need to becoming someone else to do business and to a certain extent you do. Like I said previously you need to grow into the person you want to be. You can’t stay the same but, you don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not. What I mean by that is if you’re an introvert and you know you have a hard time talking to customers, you hire someone who can help you and you can still be that introvert but work on those areas that might require you to stand out. You’re not giving up who you really are for the sake of the business, You’re evolving.
