Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gloria Song. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Gloria, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Some of the biggest trends I’m seeing in the health & wellness industry are that there is no one size fits all to wellbeing. To some, wellness may be a mentality that emphasizes living ‘well’ and happiness. To others, wellness may be a form of discipline that can elevate an individual’s life at its highest potential through certain practices imposed mentally and/or physically. My social media platforms focus on this second aspect of wellness by providing detailed, effective and realistic lifestyle tips/ habits that individuals can easily consider in their day-to-day lives. I believe it is important to have a strong niche that differentiates your platform from others because wellness is so broad. What unique services can your platforms provide that attract people who recognize the same issues you advocate on? This is key.

Gloria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into this social media industry during the COVID pandemic, where everyone was home and all services were accessed online. Due to the pandemic, health and wellbeing were of highest interest and various online health programs/ social media challenges became trending. My first YouTube video was following a workout challenge of another YouTuber’s program and I expressed my honest review of the challenge according to my body type and health goals I wanted to achieve. This spiked interest from many viewers that sought similar solutions to the issues I discussed about the workout program. As this video went viral, it spiked my YouTube channel’s subscribers and I implemented my feedback to create a workout program of my own. I am now making videos on self-care on top of workout routines and hope to open my own health studio in person.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Start making content that is currently in trend! Even though that is not something that you want to create in the long run or be branded by, but you first need that big exposure to get you started and you can slowly gravitate towards the topic of your interest once you build a strong community that follow you for YOU.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Quality> Quantity. Creating videos constantly chasing for virality and more views is important, but will not be able to produce a loyal community. Tell your story, move people with their emotions and why they want to keep up with you and your life. Produce services/products that are genuine and can actually make a change to the viewers’ lives.
