We were lucky to catch up with GLORIA JAWARO recently and have shared our conversation below.
GLORIA, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
Hygiene is the most important thing when it comes to Beauty. Lots of bacteria and dirt lie in your makeup and brushes. I post weekly cleaning brush videos as a reminder to wash your makeup brushes. I always washed my brushes with unscented soap but decided to look for a cleanser that cleans just as quick and doesn’t break down the bristles of my brushes. My goal was to find an affordable cleanser.
I bought an ECOTOOLS Brush and Sponge Cleanser and decided to start using it in my videos and testing if I liked it. Not only was I testing a new product, but it motivated me to make the quality of my videos better as I made a new one each time. I noticed the lighting wasn’t as bright or I didn’t show something right in the shot but it didn’t stop me from making them. I made about 10 videos using the cleanser on my platforms and as I continuously posted, it became apart of my cleaning routine.
I always posted these videos on my Tik-Tok, Pinterest and Instagram. Thankfully, ECOTOOLS would engage and share on their story anytime I would use their product (I geeked every time)! As a creator, it means the most for your work to be shared.
They liked and appreciated my videos so much that they reached out to me to collaborate and make a makeup brush cleansing video using their cleanser. I would make a video for their platform.
This felt right to accept because ECOTOOLS were my first set of makeup brushes and it was a full circle moment collaborating with them and seeing my video on their page.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My Name Is Gloria Jawaro: An Assyrian Beauty Content Creator Based in Arizona with an audience that is interested in body care and beauty. Beauty has been my safety blanket especially throughout my teenage years. I started teaching myself how to apply makeup through lots of trial and error.. I always loved jumping on trends and was fascinated with what social media can do for me and someone else.
My favorite thing is telling anyone what clothing, lipstick I’m wearing and what better career than being a blogger that can share it to anyone that wants to access it. I teach what I have learned myself so I can make Beauty easy for you.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want to learn as much as I can before launching my own cosmetic brand. I want to launch within the next year or so. I have the product ideas but no name for my brand yet. Being in the blogger industry, I have an advantage of seeing what the consumers want/don’t want out of a beauty product. I also don’t know a lot about ingredients and want to make sure I have the best for my products.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing the progress I’ve made. When I get sent products, I smile for days because my 13 year old self would be screaming at what I have accomplished. I have had the opportunity to be sent products from brands that I LOVE and would buy myself. Some brands are: Bliss, Dr. Dennis Gross.. It really does make all the long filming and editing days worth it!
