Hi Gloria and Mia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
Permanent jewelry is relatively new and definitely the latest trend. Some, have an idea of what it is, others, have never heard of it before! Personally, WE LOVE IT! Permanent jewelry is a unique opportunity to signify your bond with someone near and dear or who lives miles away. It is not a tattoo or piercing, in fact there’s no pain associated with permanent jewelry at all, despite what people may think from the sound of the name.

My name is Mia and my mother’s name is Gloria, both born and raised in New Braunfels Texas. We saw a great opportunity to start our mother/daughter owned business, Linked Por Vida, and bring newly trending permanent jewelry services to our town and surrounding areas for others to enjoy and experience. It makes it that much easier to start something new and exciting when you have a great support system behind you. My two younger brothers and dad have been the biggest help to my mom and I as well as my aunt who helps us at our pop-ups. Simply pick from our variety of 14 karat solid gold, 14 karat gold-filled, 925 sterling silver, or 14 karat rose gold-filled chains to be sized to your liking as a ring, bracelet, anklet, or necklace and welded closed, leaving you with a clasp-less piece of jewelry that you’ll be wearing “por vida”! You can always add to your existing piece in the future or resize it as needed. You can remove any piece by cutting the link we welded, just give us a visit so we can zap it back on you! Our jewelry is meant for your everyday wear and with proper care, can last years, but does not mean it is invincible and will break as a safety precaution if it is met with an excessive amount of force. We have been growing our business since October of 2022 and we are so excited to see where we’ll go from here! We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
My mom and I both have our own jobs outside of Linked Por Vida, but our end goal is to eventually grow to a place where we can secure this as our full time job instead, along with our very own storefront. Work doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do, so we are ecstatic for that day to come because we really enjoy everything you see and do in this industry. We are grateful to Jordan and Alex for allowing us to work out of Ultraviolet Salon as we continue to grow our clientele and business, and to every business who has hosted a Linked Por Vida pop-up. Pop-ups are where we come to your storefront for x amount of hours to provide our services to you and your customers. These make great for any type of business event or anniversary, a sales promotion, or just because! We are also available to book for weddings, bachelorettes, bridal/baby showers, birthday parties, a girl’s night, employee bonding, and anything else in between!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
We’ve learned you can NOT compare yourself to other businesses in the same industry, and if you do, you have to stop! What they have, what you may not, their prices, your prices, how many clients and supporters they have versus how many you may or may not have. That goes for any type of business owner, nothing good comes out of comparing yourself to someone. Just put your head down and grind, grind, grind! Your hard work and success WILL show. All you can do is your best and let the rest work itself out.
