We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Glenda Castro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Glenda below.
Glenda, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Everything happens for a reason, there are no coincidences in this life, and I know that the way it was meant for me to start that year (2017), it was perfect timing. I would do it again the same way except that I wouldn’t think about it as much because I was always worried that it wouldn’t be a successful business as it is today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After the first interview in 2019 with SDVoyager my life changed for the better, starting with the fact that I had a daughter in 2020 and she is my whole world. I’m a blessed 32 year old woman who works hard for her beautiful 3 year old daughter, after the interview I had more followers on instagram and a lot of new clients, I feel very honored to be interviewed again 5 years later by SDVoyager. I started my eyelash extensions career in 2017 when eyelash extensions were just becoming more famous. I consider myself a woman with work discipline, because I always make sure that my clients gets what they want, 4 years ago I partnered with a brand from Los Angeles and since then I only use their products, they are high quality and the best on the market right now. Going to school to become a lash technician was the best decision I made in my life.
About 3 years ago I went back to school and took a waxing, tinting and eyebrow lamination course, being honest It was the best thing I did for my business, now my clients come out ready with eyelashes, eyebrows and no hair. they love it!
What makes Fabulash.sd different from others is that my prices are reasonable, it’s not only the price but the quality.
I feel that now a days with all the social media like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc. it’s way easier for anyone to get more views/followers but it takes a lot of recommendations to get real clients. I just feel like we always have to support small business no matter what. I feel very blessed to have the clients that I have just because they are amazing. I love how I have all kind of clients from 18 – 66 years old.
Fabulash.sd is like going to therapy every day for me, I just have the best time of my life since don’t see it as a job because I love what I do, I love my clients as if they were my friends, I have clients who have been with me since the first day I started lashing. In recent years I have grown to be a better business woman, a mother, a wife, a daughter, sister and a better friend..
My business is successful and I know that the people who love and appreciate me will continue to support me.
By the way I will be offering a new service starting September 2024. You can get more information on my Instagram page: @Fabulash.sd

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
The best way to keep in touch with your clients is being real, honest and very comprehensive. From the first day I opened my business I started using an app to schedule my appointments and be able to have close communication with my clients. In that app, my clients can schedule, reschedule and send me text messages if they have a question. The app also sends each client I’ve seen in that day a reminder of the after care, even a reminder to schedule the next appointment.
To my clients who have been supporting me for years, I always give priority on scheduling them at any day or time… I just feel like I owe that to them because without their support i wouldn’t be where I am. I’m very thankful for having them in my life.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The best social media advice I can give is to keep on posting on all of your social media, literally every day. It is very important to post and tag your clients so that they can share on their social networks and that way you can gain more audience/client/followers.
One of the things that has worked for me is not to put a filter on the photos of my work because that way people know that what they see is what they get.
