We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful GlenAndrea Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with GlenAndrea below.
GlenAndrea, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve always known that I had an artistic personality, growing up I always loved to be cast in school and church plays as the lead, I loved public speaking but most importantly, I loved making people feel happy and inspired to be their best selves. I remember auditioning for the Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting and was blown away by the opportunities given to me just by being myself and from there, I never looked back. As we fast forward to today, I am the host of the You’re Not Done Yet Podcast a weekly show telling stories of purpose while listening to others. It allowed me to combine the things I love to do most talking and inspiring others, I will so say so far has been an amazing process to see it grow.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hey there! My name is Andrea Bee formally known as GlenAndrea Brown or Gee Gee. I am a small-town girl raised in one of the best towns ever Quincy, FL. I am the oldest of four siblings on my mom’s side and the middle child of five on my dad’s side.. a big family, right? I am also the mother to an amazing three-year-old Sonshine, Avery and it’s definitely one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have as a woman if given a chance.
I graduated with Bachelor’s in Public Relations from the best HBCU in all the land, THE Florida Agricultural, and Mechanical University in 2018. My dream has always been to be in the entertainment industry and work for some of the biggest stars but of course, God had other plans. Shortly after graduating from college, I found out that I was pregnant with my son and I thought life as I knew it was OVER. After pressing through all the changes that were rapidly happening in my life the “You’re Not Done Yet Podcast” was born. I honestly started the podcast to let off some steam dealing with a newborn baby with the help of my support system, I wanted to do something that made me feel good and combine my love for talking and motivating people. After the first season, the feedback that I got was amazing and I knew that I had to continue with the podcast, God will not let me walk away no matter how hard I tried. I definitely feel empty without it…..outside of being a podcast host I am also a motivational speaker that produces motivational content on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok.
The You’re Not Done Yet podcast is so special because allows people who wouldn’t normally share their stories allows them to have a safe space to do just that. I know that by following the instructions given to me by God that this podcast is doing what it was created to do.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think the most rewarding part about being creative is the ability to create on my terms and most importantly create things based on how I feel. It’s not about what’s trending at the moment its about what resonates with your audience.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I would honestly say the mission/ goal that is driving my creative journey is wanting to motivate as many people as possible to walk in their purpose and be their best selves.
