We recently connected with Gizaine Cajuste and have shared our conversation below.
Gizaine , appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My business name is SOLOSO LLC. Since I was a little kid I have a passion for humanity. As I get older the thought of giving back remains one of many things I wanted to do. Financially I feel like I couldn’t give in bulk to help the less fortunate. After talking with my husband about how I want to find a way to give back to my community, I decided to fast for 21 days to get clarity. Within 7 days into fasting, I heard a voice saying “SEEONE-LOVEONE-SAVEONE. I had no clue what that means to me. I kept thinking about it because it was so clear. I decided to take one letter from each word to create my business name SOLOSO. It is a brand that cater to charity causes. Over the passed years, I have supported many organizations like breast cancer, autism, mental health, kids in foster care and many more.
Gizaine , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am s very down to earth type of person. I am compassionate, and always see the best in people. Not only did I create SOLOSO LLC to five back to my comm, I am very creative with my hands as well. I am the owner of KREMAS BON GOU which is a well known authentic Haitian cocktail. It can be served uear round in many festivities. It is a must have during the holiday seasons going into the new year. I cater to all events small and big. What set me apart is that I create my craft with passion and love. Whatever the theme is for your special event, I make sure I personally create your labels to make it fits the theme/colors. I usually tell my clients just pick your date, theme and colors, and I got the rest. I provide variety of sizes to suit your needs from party favors to full gallons. Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Yes I can. The story of my journey that illustrated my resilience is simply give yourself a chance to grow into the person you’re meant to be. When it come to business, many of us may have doubts because others are doing the same thing as you. This should NOT be a reason to not pursue your business. You must keep in mind that you are the brand so carry yourself as such. Those who supports you not only buying the products, but they supporting the person behind the brand. I can say about 80% of Haitians know how to make Kremas, but I make KREMAS BON GOU where all ingredients are carefully picked to create that authentic cocktail. I am here to serve my community. I’m just a phone call away 1-866 499-3499 l
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
When I first started to make Kremas, I used to just sell 750ml bottles. One day I said to myself “I should be more creative and find a way to provide different options to my clients. I created gift baskets for mother’s day then post them on social media. Many people did not hesitate to place there orders knowing that one of many items they will find in those baskets is a nice bottle of Kremas Bon Gou. From there I began to create baskets and gift box for different occasions like valentine’s day, father’s day, Christmas and also if someone just want to send a nice basket to a friend or family. I haven’t seen anyone making gift baskets that way so I took a chance and so far I can’t say I regret it. The regret would have been if I didn’t take the chance to offer my talent to the community. I market it the best way I can, and word of mouth is definitely a great boost.
