Hi Giulia, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
i am about to release a new album called “Only Luna Knows” and book of my recipes and lyrics called “Dinner with Giulia – Flavors, songs and stories of a Florentine Troubadour”. With this project I’m putting together my two passions: music and food. I love gathering with friends around the things that matter the most in life and spend quality time, telling stories and sharing meaningful moments.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a full time singer-songwriter and touring musician, born and raised in Florence, Italy. I started in the early 2000 and moved to the US in 2012. Since then I have released 5 records and toured extensively in the US and Europe, collaborating with world famous musicians like Marc Ribot (Tom Waits) Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello) Hunt Sales (David Bowie) and many more…
I am not famous but I am fortunate enough to lead the life I dreamed of as a kid; a life of music and creavity.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
We need more venues where people can enjoy spending time together creatively. In these days when streaming services have put independent musicians our of business, we need more fundings to support the arts. We cannot afford to live in a world without music and arts!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I took a degree in medicine (yep, I’m an MD) and never practiced a single day. Since then I have pursued my goals and dreams and made music and creativity the center of my life.
It’s not easy and it can be unsettling financially and also emotionally and physically but I wouldn’t trade it with anything else because I get to be part of something magical.
