Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Giulia Millanta. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Giulia, appreciate you joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I am a full time musician Obviously it didn’t happen overnight. I started performing and teaching music in 2008 in Florence Italy, and then moved to Austin, Tx in 2012, so I kinda had to start over.
Major steps: definitely recording albums, putting them out, getting reviews and radio plays, playing festivals, touring…all of that combined together.
There’s no speeding up the process, if you have integrity, I think.

I am a singer-songwriter. I have released 8 solo records. I song in 4 languages (english, spanish, italian and french) and play guitar, piano and other instruments. I tour in the US and Europe

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Life without music would be miserable. Artists are struggling because all the streaming services took away part of the revenue.
If you love music, go out to see shows, support your favorite musicians.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
connecting with the audience, knowing that my music is contributing by being part of the discussion, or by comforting someone and keeping them company.
