We were lucky to catch up with Gisele Joves recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Gisele thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Yes I am happiest as a creative. I have had many”regular jobs.” I have realized every time I have had a regular job it’s not as fulfilling as working on my own music and or acting roles. There is sense of accomplishment in this art form. I love telling stories through my art. I feel many people can relate. If they can see the message then they know I see them too.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
As a creative artist in the entertainment industry it hard for non-creatives to understand the struggle and hardship into going for a dream that at first is not supported financially or stable. So in order to pursue this the balance to support your dream is a tough one. One usually takes up jobs that can be flexible in order to be able to make auditions and work on their art until the art starts to get recognized and pay for itself. In creating music I can’t take away the love of the art form which in my eyes is such a beautiful experience on a blank canvas for the ears. But for me it’s emotions, excitement, feelings, and movements that can really touch someone’s heart and soul. Writing lyrics is like writing a movie scene for me. I emote feelings in the sound of the music to get the audience to feel me. I can only explain like this. If you are a Doctor your job is to help people heal so when you solve a person’s sickness and can prescribe a formula to get them better it’s satisfying for a Doctor. That is the way I feel about music it is satisfying for me to create and can make others feel.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
To be honest I have had several people that have discouraged me in my pursuit of acting and singing. It’s because of how unstable the industry can be. All I can say is I rely on my own instincts in my journey. I have this innate desire and determination to bring my art form out. I love to create. I see things differently in this world and meditate on the daily and believe in manifestation. I believe in the best intentions from others but it’s learning to be secure and consistent in your life. I also have had many that are very supportive. I just remember working jobs that offered security but I deep down inside felt empty and not fulfilled. I remember asking a coworker would she have changed a thing in her life if she could go back and she said yes she would have still pursued dance because that made her happy. She also said that she felt stuck. That stayed with me because the minute I felt stuck I ended up leaving but somehow the Universe worked it out for me. If I could encourage people to pursue their dreams in a way that feel there is purpose and you will find your own way in your journey.
