We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Giovanni Lamonte. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Giovanni below.
Hi Giovanni, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is a docuseries I created for the LSU Gymnastics team called The Climb. This project was especially significant to me because it wasn’t just about capturing the athletic achievements of these incredible gymnasts; it was about telling their stories as individuals. Through The Climb, I had the privilege of showcasing who they are beyond the sport—their personal journeys, the challenges they faced, and the resilience they demonstrated in their pursuit of a national championship. Seeing the impact these stories had on our audience, and knowing I was able to give a voice to these athletes’ experiences, made it an unforgettable and deeply rewarding project.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a freelance video producer with a passion for storytelling that’s been with me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I loved telling stories in any way I could—whether through writing or making videos on my parents’ phone. When I got to college, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do, but I knew storytelling would be at the heart of it.
Eventually, I found my way into LSU Athletics, where I had the incredible opportunity to create videos for multiple sports. This work allowed me to tell the stories of the athletes behind the sports—their journeys, their struggles, and their triumphs.
Now, as a freelance video producer, I collaborate closely with individual athletes across various sports to help elevate their personal brands. What sets me apart from other producers is the range of projects I’ve had the privilege to work on. From intricate, high-energy edits with flashy effects to long-form storytelling pieces that unfold over months, I’ve developed a versatile skill set to bring any vision to life.
I’m proud of my ability to connect with the subjects of my work and create content that resonates on a personal level, whether it’s capturing an athlete’s defining moment or sharing the story of their path to greatness. For me, every project is an opportunity to bring authenticity and creativity together to tell a story that matters.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The driving goal of my creative journey has always been to become the best version of the artist I know I can be. I strive to push my boundaries, constantly learning new skills and exploring areas that take me outside of my comfort zone. I never want to look back with regrets about what I could have created, so I approach every project with the intention of growth and excellence.
Another key goal is to make a positive impact on the athletes I work with. By using my talents, I aim to elevate their personal brands and help tell their stories in ways that resonate with audiences and showcase who they are beyond their sport.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media has been a gradual process rooted in consistency, authenticity, and showcasing my work. It started with sharing the projects I was most passionate about—highlighting the stories of athletes and their journeys. By focusing on content that resonated emotionally and visually, I was able to connect with a specific audience who appreciated my storytelling style.
Over time, I learned the importance of engaging with my audience—responding to comments, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, and collaborating with others in my field. Each interaction helped create a sense of community and trust, which encouraged people to follow and support my work.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is simple:
Be consistent. Post regularly to keep your audience engaged and aware of your work.
Be authentic. Let your personality and unique style shine through—it’s what sets you apart.
Show your process. People love to see how things are made. Sharing your behind-the-scenes moments can make your content feel more personal and relatable.
Engage with others. Respond to comments, collaborate with peers, and be an active participant in your online community.
Above all, stay patient. Building an audience takes time, but if you focus on creating meaningful content and connecting with your followers, your presence will grow naturally.
