We were lucky to catch up with Giovanni and Ariana Barrientos recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Giovanni and Ariana , thanks for joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?

We have been growing our social media community, and connecting with new people and new opportunities everyday. I reached out to a customer that I saw needed some work done, and when we got there she had carpet for us to install but when we unrolled it, to make sure it was enough, it ended up being not enough. We helped her measure and helped her get the material, and we layed down exactly what she wanted and she was extremely happy. The feeling of the reward and accomplishment is something you have to get up in the morning and strive for, the time, the detail, and effort all make a perfect job. We were so grateful for her giving us an opportunity.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

There is a lot of carpet installers in our family, that have taught us over the years. As time went on we were no longer afraid of going out on our own and opening up our LLC.

We don’t regret the decision. It’s been the best choice in our lives because we get to decide what our businesses values are, and help people put their dreams on their floors.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

We opened our business a short time before COVID-19. When it hit, it really showed that only the best of the industry were getting work. We were 18 and 20 years old, and continued to have steady work when only essential workers were allowed on the road. Sometimes there was no one on the roads. Through the time of having to work in masks, the work was not as abundant as before. Our work quality had to excel 10x more because of the scarcity of the work. Continuing our trade throughout the challenges of COVID-19 showcased our resilience.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

The Secret is a book written by Rhonda Byrne.

This book has impacted us because learning how to manifest, is also paying attention to what you have your eyes and goals set on. It is like setting up a vision board or saying your goals out loud, you put energy into those visions.

Success is not like winning the lottery, you succeed because you pour your energy and strive into something, so when you succeed it is no suprise like winning the lottery, instead you see it coming.

The book talks about being a good person and giving good energy to the universe. What you out into the universe you, get back.

We’ve always wanted to run our business with the values of integrity, honesty and quality and this book has made that clear and achievable.
