We were lucky to catch up with Giovanna THEREZA recently and have shared our conversation below.
Giovanna, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I have some meaningful projects that I could share here today because I really like working on projects that bring impact to the world and the people around me, activating different sensations and talking about important topics. My last project that I presented last Saturday in Barcelona Sustainable Fashion Week, talks about The Contamination. The concept mixes a futuristic and at the same time fantastic aesthetic to touch different types of pollution within the elements AIR, WATER, FIRE, FLORA and FAUNA. The program had a combination of Digital Fashion and Augmented Reality experiences to bring the concept in an immersive way. This project is very meaningful to me because I can highlight the topic of sustainability using digital tools and innovative experiences. This is great since I can creatively share my vision of the different types of pollution in the world and in the same time, I can already present one of the solutions for this problem that uses digital fashion as a tool for the workflow of product development and marketing strategies.
I would also like to point out that joining this event was a great step for me as a Freelancer Digital Fashion Designer to launch my new collection and be part of the international Fashion Week circuit. At this event in Spain I was the first to present a digital fashion presentation combining real models and AR technology by broadcasting live during the show.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

“I believe that fashion and technology together will build the future of the retail and fashion industry. I want to be part of this change and help companies to contnue their business following the newest trends in the market and standing out for causes that will make difference in the world.”
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I graduated in Product Design at the University and soon I specialized in Fashion Design. I went to the market working as fashion designer first but very quickly I got inside the retail world and I saw myself obligated to follow a path as a product manager and build a more solid career inside big companies. This was my first change of career / goal inside the fashion industry. First my goal was to be a Fashion Designer and explore my creativity inside brands, but I made a choice of following a business path which I would be able to growth inside big companies and get better salaries. After years working as a buyer and Product Manager in the Fashion Business, I decided to make another change of career and at the same time a big change in my life. I left the company that I had being working almost 5 years, I sold everything that I had in Brazil and moved to Barcelona. I decided to go for this change because I wanted to come back to the creative field and get in touch with innovative experiences inside the fashion market. Thanks for this risk that I took 5 years ago, now I feel completely realized with my new achievements and building my new goals as a 3D Digital Designer.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
From my point of view, Nfts are much more than just a card or art registered on the blockchain. I think Nfts started in a direction where only a few people had the opportunity to take advantage from the system and make some money from it. For me, NFts must have, in addition to artistic value, functionality. Brands have not yet discovered how to use this incredible tool within their marketing strategies. Nfts can bring connection between brands and their users by creating value generating functionality. This tool can be used as a new Fidelity card to provide exclusivity and personalized benefits to current customers and potential future users. Create a club in which only those who have specific brand NFTs can join and receive discounts, special gifts or even VIP invitations to events. Connection and brand awareness is everything to differentiate yourself in a market full of brands that continue to make the same strategies and use the same tools for their marketing proposals.
