Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Kunadian
Hi Gina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey to where I am today has been filled with both challenges and victories, each shaping me into the woman I am now. My story began with a personal battle against alcohol dependency—a period marked by struggle but pivotal in setting the course for my future. This experience was both a trial and a profound teacher, illuminating the power of resilience and the necessity of self-compassion.
After achieving sobriety, my passion for helping others led me to become a women’s alcohol-free sobriety coach. I founded Shine Within, a platform dedicated to empowering women to overcome their own struggles with alcohol through holistic approaches and transformative coaching. Each step in my journey has been guided by a commitment to not just survive but to thrive, helping others do the same by fostering a community of support and understanding.
Through my podcast, ‘Shine Within,’ I extend my reach, sharing stories and strategies that inspire and equip women to embrace their full potential. Each episode is a step towards demystifying sobriety and promoting a life of wellness and authenticity.
My work is driven by a simple but powerful belief: when we heal ourselves, we heal the world. This conviction propels me to keep reaching out, keep engaging, and continue to be a beacon of hope and transformation for those navigating their path to recovery.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to where I am today was anything but smooth, but every bump and curve brought invaluable lessons that shaped my approach to life and coaching. One of the earliest and most profound struggles was my own battle with alcohol dependency. Overcoming this was not just about abstaining from alcohol; it was a deep, personal transformation that required me to face my vulnerabilities and fears head-on.
Transitioning into a sobriety coach brought its own set of challenges. Building a platform and establishing trust within a community of women who are often at their most vulnerable demanded not just expertise, but a genuine empathy and unwavering dedication. It took time to learn the best ways to connect with and support others effectively while also managing the emotional weight that such work often carries.
Another significant hurdle was developing a business around my mission. As a woman entrepreneur in the wellness industry, I faced the typical challenges of any small business owner—securing funding, marketing my services, and distinguishing my brand in a crowded market. Additionally, navigating the stigmas surrounding addiction and recovery often meant advocating for the legitimacy and necessity of sobriety coaching in broader wellness conversations.
Despite these challenges, every difficulty has reinforced my commitment to this work. The struggles have not only taught me about resilience and perseverance but have also deepened my understanding of the very issues my clients face, making me a more effective coach and advocate.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the heart of my business is a commitment to transforming lives through sobriety coaching tailored specifically for women. As the founder and lead coach at my organization, I specialize in guiding women to reclaim their lives from the grips of alcohol dependency. My approach is holistic, integrating elements of emotional healing, lifestyle adjustments, and self-empowerment techniques to not only achieve sobriety but also to thrive in all aspects of life thereafter.
What sets my coaching apart is its foundation in personal experience combined with a deep understanding of the unique challenges women face in recovery. My program, the Transformation SHINE Process, is a distinctive blend of structured support and personalized care designed to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each client. This process isn’t just about stopping drinking; it’s about starting a new chapter of life filled with clarity, purpose, and joy.
I am particularly proud of the community aspect of my business. The supportive network that forms among the women who undertake this journey together is incredibly powerful. Witnessing the transformations and the ripple effect they have on families and communities reinforces the value of what we do.
For readers looking to understand more about my offerings, it’s crucial to recognize that sobriety coaching is a journey of self-discovery and liberation. My services include one-on-one coaching, group sessions, and workshops, all focused on empowering women to achieve and maintain sobriety as a gateway to enhancing all areas of their lives.
Ultimately, I want readers to know that my brand is about more than overcoming addiction; it’s about embracing a lifestyle of wellness and self-love that enables women to lead fulfilled, vibrant lives. Whether someone is struggling with alcohol or knows someone who is, I am here to offer a path forward, illuminated by compassion, professional guidance, and unwavering support.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The Covid-19 crisis has undoubtedly been a challenging time for all of us, but it has also provided a unique opportunity for introspection and self-discovery. This period of global pause allowed me to step back from the daily hustle and truly connect with myself on a deeper level. I discovered a newfound passion for cooking, which became not just a way to nourish my family but also a creative outlet for me. More so, I found solace and rejuvenation in nature, spending more time outdoors than I had in years, which deeply enriched my spiritual and emotional well-being.
During this time, I also connected more profoundly with my higher consciousness. The quiet of the lockdowns, the distance from the usual busyness of life, allowed me to listen more closely to my inner voice, guiding me toward what truly matters. I realized how much of my life had been driven by a ‘hustle and grind’ mentality, which, while productive, wasn’t always fulfilling.
This reflection led me to recalibrate my approach to work and life. I’ve learned the importance of balancing productivity with peace, of achieving goals while also ensuring time for self-care and personal growth. It’s a lesson I carry forward in my coaching, helping others find their balance and align more closely with their true selves. This crisis has taught us all something invaluable about the essence of our humanity and the power of slowing down to reflect on who we are and what we truly want from our lives.
