We were lucky to catch up with Gina Harris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gina , appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Well, the name came from me being from New Orleans Louisiana after hurricane Katrina happened. I was hell-bent on starting a business. I just didn’t know where to start at.So I came up with the name. The Nola Way basically bringing my culture, style to another state.

Gina , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, my name is Gina Harris I’m from New Orleans Louisiana a single parent at three. Basically I come from a city of fun, vibrant colors, style jazz music, down earth so I started a business based off my city decorating and planning. I have been doing this for years but I never believe in myself enough to take the major big step to start my own business, I started designing and decorating small kickbacks at my house and that leads to me designing my own birthday parties every year, until a friend of mine reached out to me wanting me to decorate her wedding. I couldn’t believe this really was happening. I was so scared at that moment, but I had to trust God. I had to trust myself and I did it and it was successful .

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Good question I built my audience on social media by posting pictures from different angles as I designed and decorated for these different events that I put on. Each event became bigger and bigger major and major. So my presence was known. I gave my audience on social media of my New Orleans style goals, so giving them bright colors like greens, golds, and purple, Mardi Gras colors, Mardi Gras theme names, New Orleans theme names. I wanted to bring something different that showed who I was personally.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Another good question my strategy for growing my clientele was, I listened. I was loyal, I gave them a chance to experience having their dream event designed by me. One thing I learned in is design business is that you have to give a little to get a lot and they will always return back to you.
