We were lucky to catch up with Gina Cassady recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gina , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Funny story most people don’t know my real name isn’t Gina ! Gina is like my alter ego like a stage name I guess lol because I turn into a different person when I’m in business mode. Gina gets the job done no excuses only solutions ! I wanted to recreate myself when I first started my business. I was in a hard time in my life and I put all bets on myself . If I was going to take a risk I just wanted to do whatever my heart desire my way and that was cooking so I came up with Ginas way ! Culinary my way how I see it . Whether it’s the taste or the presentation I love the creativity and freeness I feel when I’m in the kitchen doing traditional or non traditional dishes my way. Thank God people enjoyed my cooking which has kept me going for 4 years now..

Gina , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a caterer and traveling chef from Raleigh,Nc. I started out selling plates which grew me into my catering business. I’m super Grateful for how far my business has come . To be a home cook starting where I came from , quitting my job chasing a vision into creating a well known catering business with over 6k people following is still beyond me. Because it’s solely based off my hard work , consistency and word of mouth of people who enjoy my food. I’m not where I want to be but I’m definitely further than I ever thought when I first started my small business. I enjoy catering more than anything which is why I’ve made such a effort to get my business known for catering events big or small. Meeting so many different people, from doing so many celebrations for so many different occasions I feel so blessed people think of me to cater for these special occasions and memories.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I currently have about 6.1k followers on Facebook right now over the course of 4 years It might seem small to some people but it’s huge for my small business because I never paid for post promotions or anything, not saying there’s anything wrong with that I’ve personally just never done it or haven’t felt the need just yet . My following is All based off word of mouth and people sharing and talking about my business on and off the internet . It just goes to show you post post post no matter if you get zero or thousand likes people see it ! That’s what I’ve always done just post everyday all day about my food and my business! And I encourage everyone to do the same , if you’re not already.I don’t care how corny or annoying you think it is that’s your business sell your product no one’s going to know what you have or offer if you don’t promote and the second they need it they will think of you first because they already know you offer that and you enjoy it because that’s all you post about.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Satisfying your customers and consistency I would say has been the most effective way I have grown my clientele. Working nonstop and Making sure I deliver with each client has gotten me so many referrals and new opportunities. People talk and when people talk great things about you and your business it makes others eager to try It !
