We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gigi Magick. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gigi below.
Alright, Gigi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
Right now, it’s just my fiancée and me — she manages all the booking and day-to-day logistics. Coming from Cleveland, viable opportunities for creatives to truly be heard can be scarce. I’m definitely open to working with an agent, but in today’s climate, especially online, it can be difficult to discern who’s genuinely invested in your growth and who’s just running a scam.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The journey hasn’t been linear—it’s been layered, Before the name change, before the evolution, I was already making noise in Cleveland as Doxx—packing out venues like the Grog Shop and stepping on major stages at 19. There were moments of real momentum early on: sharing space with icons, catching a role in The Land, and feeling like things were aligning creatively.
But life, as it does, redirected me.
When I got incarcerated in 2016, it was like everything hit pause. But the music never left me—it never could. That time gave me perspective. It gave me hunger.
Now re-emerged and redefined, Gigi Magick isn’t looking to pick up where he left off—he’s building something entirely new.
This chapter is different. Gigi Magick isn’t just a name—it’s an embodiment of growth, experimentation, and truth. I’m blending the grit of my past with new sonic textures. No Cap/Str8 Rec is a mirror to where I’ve been, but what’s next? That’s about where I’m going. And it’s limitless.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
BandLab is one of those tools I genuinely wish existed when I was just starting out. It’s completely transformed my creative process. I’ve been able to streamline my workflow and cut recording time in half because I no longer need to rely on an engineer for every step. The level of control it gives artists is game-changing.
We’re moving toward an era where most artists will handle their own production, mixing, and mastering in-house. It’s not just a possibility—it’s the direction the industry is heading. And trust me, it’s coming faster than people think.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
At the core, my priority has always been to create music that leaves a lasting impression, That’s the foundation—memorable, impactful art. I also recognize the potential of aligning with the right team or major platform. With the right support behind me, there’s truly no ceiling to what can be achieved
