We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful GiGi Diaz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with GiGi below.
GiGi , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
The coaching industry is a new a fast growing field. Most coaches who are serious about pursuing this path get their ICF Certification so they’re in alignment with the best and most ethical ways of coaching and so their training puts them ahead of the rest by getting the proven coaching tools for maximum transformation in their clients.
What ends up happening is the most coaching organization that certify don’t teach how to launch, establish or grow a coaching business. They give you all the coaching tools, but none of the equally important business tools so you can succeed financially.
This is what I focus on. I help coaches establish their brand and increase sales with less stress.
Something else that makes my approach different than the rest is that I incorporate a holistic approach to entrepreneurship where we nurture the business and the woman behind the business equally. This means we tap into mindset and intuitive coaching as well as provide tools for stress management and overall wellness. This way you can achieve success without the burnout
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I consider myself a recovering hustler! Why recovering? Because I ended up in an emergency room depleted from “hustling” while getting my Master’s degree, holding 3 jobs and managing my first business that I had established back in 2003—not a good move.
That’s when I realized that working hard is NOT the quickest way to success. I also realized that I wasn’t alone; that there had to be other women out there, eager to take on the world and make their wildest dreams come true but were going about it the wrong way and just burning out in the process. The hustler approach makes the road to your dream life unnecessarily longer.
After my health scare, I spent years looking inward as well as learning about the true core of joyful living. I got my certifications as a Life Coach as well as in Happiness Studies, Positive Psychology Habits Practitioner, and Mindfulness. I launched my coaching organization, Seizing Happy® in 2018. My passion is to bring this knowledge that took me years to acquire, to the powerhouse women who are ready to awaken their greatness and get to their mountaintop– loving every step of the climb!
I accomplish this mission through my VIP Coaching Program: Unleash Your Inner C.E.O. This is a 3 month program for female coaches to acquire the Blueprint, Branding and Breakthrough necessary for their businesses to truly bloom without the burnout most coaches experience.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to “unlearn” is that working hard is the way to success. After my burnout experience I realized that being busy does not equal being productive and that doing all the things almost NEVER moves the needle in business. But it DOES feel good to be busy huh?
I had to really look inward to unlearn that concept cause not only is it false, it led me – like it leads most – to burnout. When I was able to shift that mindset into working smart, not hard; into investing in myself and business so I could get the custom guidance for quicker growth then everything changed for the better. Within less than a year I quit a 6 figure job to focus exclusively on my business, bought my first house, bought my first investment property and took 2 vacations in the process.
You can do it too. You can do whatever YOUR definition of success is. You just need to want it bad enough, unlearn what doesn’t serve you (this is where coaching is supremely powerful) and invest in your dream. It’ll always be worth it in the end.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Believe it or not, the most effective strategy to grow my clientele has been niching down, way down. I used to work with women entrepreneurs and the business did well, but I could tell I was missing the mark in my marketing cause my target was way to wide. Wanting to serve everyone is a common mistake when starting a new business. Once I corrected that it was so much easier to attract the RIGHT clients and more of them!
