Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Giánni Lynette. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Giánni, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At The OMGi Salon, our mission is simple: to create a space where beauty is protected, nurtured, and thriving—not just on the surface, but from the inside out. This mission goes beyond styling hair; it’s about education, empowerment, and transformation.
For me, this work is personal. Growing up in a salon, I witnessed the deep connection between self-care and confidence—how a great hair appointment could shift someone’s entire energy. But as I deepened my knowledge in trichology, I saw how many people were silently struggling with hair loss, scalp issues, and misinformation about hair health. Many didn’t know where to turn for answers. That’s when I knew my purpose wasn’t just to style hair, but to educate and empower my clients with the knowledge to truly care for their hair and scalp.
I’ve built The OMGi Salon to be more than just a beauty destination—it’s a safe space where clients feel heard, supported, and cared for. I’m proud to offer not just services, but solutions that help people regain their confidence and embrace their natural beauty. Seeing clients walk out with their heads held higher, feeling informed and empowered—that’s what makes this mission meaningful.

Giánni, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! I’m Giánni, an AADP Board-Certified Trichologist and owner of The OMGi Salon, where “beauty goes beyond the surface.”
My journey into haircare began as a young girl, watching my mother—also a cosmetologist—bring confidence and transformation to her clients. I spent many hours in the salon, soaking in the culture, mastering braiding techniques, and even making a little extra cash on weekends. While my love for hair was always there, it wasn’t until 2017 that I made the bold decision to leave corporate America and build something of my own. I graduated from Aveda Institute Columbus in 2019, and after working alongside other talented beauty professionals, I opened The OMGi Salon—a space rooted in education, expertise, and empowerment.
From the start, I’ve been intentional about cultivating a salon experience that feels safe, inclusive, and transformative. At #TOS, we believe in more than just great hair—we believe in education, growth, trust, integrity, and a top-tier customer experience. As a Trichologist, I help clients understand their hair and scalp health on a deeper level, offering real solutions for concerns like hair loss, breakage, and scalp conditions. What sets us apart is our commitment to empowering every client with knowledge, so they leave not just looking good but feeling confident in caring for their hair beyond the chair.
I’m incredibly proud to have built a loyal clientele that entrusts me not only with their haircare but with their families’ hair journeys as well. The relationships I’ve formed and the community I’ve cultivated within the salon mean everything to me. Seeing clients return, generation after generation, knowing they feel safe and valued in this space—that’s the true measure of success.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life was leaving corporate America in my late 20s to step into entrepreneurship—all while being a parent. It was a leap of faith, walking away from stability into the unknown, but I knew I was meant to build something of my own. That decision wasn’t just about following my passion—it was about creating a life where I could do work that truly mattered, on my own terms. Looking back, that pivot has been one of the most rewarding moves I’ve ever made.
Another pivotal moment came early in my career as a licensed cosmetologist. At first, I felt pressure to be a jack of all trades, thinking success meant offering every service possible. I invested in master classes for advanced weaving techniques and aesthetic-driven services, but something felt off. I realized I wasn’t fulfilled by just creating a look—I wanted to create long-term solutions for my clients. That shift in mindset led me back to my true passion: healthy haircare and education. Instead of chasing trends, I doubled down on trichology, helping my clients understand their hair beyond styling. That decision has shaped The OMGi Salon into what it is today—a space where beauty is nurtured at the root.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When it comes to social media, I’ve never focused on chasing numbers—I’ve focused on building real connections. My following isn’t huge—I have under 2K on Instagram and just over 3K on Facebook—but what I do have is an authentic audience that translates into real business. Every client who finds me online and books an appointment is a direct result of staying true to who I am rather than just following trends or trying to go viral.
My content is a reflection of my expertise, my personality, and my passion for healthy haircare and scalp education. I share what I know, showcase my work, and engage with my audience in a way that feels genuine and personal. That’s what builds trust—and trust is what converts followers into loyal clients.
For anyone just starting out, my best advice is: stay consistent, stay authentic, and stay engaged. Post regularly, even when it feels like no one is watching. Share what you love and what aligns with your brand. And most importantly, when people interact with your content—comment, DM, or ask questions—respond and connect. Social media is about relationships, and the strongest businesses are built on real connections, not just high follower counts.
