We were lucky to catch up with Gianna Thompson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gianna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order to become successful, I believe that it takes hard work and determination. You must have patience because nothing happens overnight. Often times we as people want results right away. That is unrealistic. Set realistic goals for yourself and work towards completing them. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Gianna , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Gianna Thompson. I am a serial entrepreneur and future Chef. Let’s start off with cooking. I have always had a passion for cooking since I was a little girl. I’d always be in the kitchen watching my grandmothers, mother and aunt cook. Something about cooking excites me and I thoroughly enjoy it. I am also a Lash Artist based in Atlanta Georgia. My brand offers beauty cosmetics and I handmake lash extensions.
To all upcoming business owners I want you to be kind to yourself. Owning a business is not all beauty and glamour as you will face hardships during your journey. Discipline your habits, focus and please remain patient. Work as hard as you can and your hard work will pay off.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been MARKETING! Marketing can make or break your brand.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
The plan is for my side hustle to turn into my main career. My advice to making this happen is to continue working your 9-5 to fund your hustle. I have not quit mine and I am still working as hard as I can to eventually be comfortable enough to take on my business full time.
