We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gianluca Piovani a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Gianluca, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
The biggest trend I’m seeing in the creative industry is the rise of AI agents.
Right now, most people see AI as a tool for scripting, editing, or automating engagement. But what’s coming next are AI agents acting like digital employees—creating, strategizing, and even negotiating deals on behalf of brands and creators.
Because of this, content is becoming commodified. The barrier to entry is disappearing—anyone can generate clips, write captions, and mimic top creators. Our feeds are getting flooded with low-effort AI slop, and we’re already seeing people gravitate toward a more raw, authentic approach.
AI makes mass production easy, but standing out will require a unique POV, personality, and emotional connection. The ones who master AI for efficiency—while keeping their content human—will be the ones who dominate and build Know, Like, and Trust at scale.

Gianluca, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Gianluca Piovani—filmmaker, creative director, and founder of Storyforma, an LA-based creative studio helping brands and founders grow through social storytelling.
I started filming at 16, moved from Italy to LA, worked in film production, and eventually launched my own studio. I’ve worked with companies like Amazon, Masterclass, and Spinning, creating content that moves the needle.
At Storyforma, we don’t just make videos—we act as a creative partner, building content ecosystems that help businesses grow their brand and community without gimmicks.
Right now, AI is making it easier than ever to flood feeds with content, but most of it is low-effort, forgettable noise. The real opportunity isn’t just creating more—it’s creating content that feels real, builds trust, and actually connects. As your creative partner, we help you inject human creativity into your brand while leveraging algorithms and automation to scale it effectively.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I don’t have a massive social media following, but what matters to me is that it brings in leads and opportunities. My advice is don’t overthink it—consistency beats perfection. Quality matters, of course, but when you’re starting out, focus on quantity. Put out a lot of content, test different ideas, see what sticks, and double down on what works. The more you post, the faster you’ll refine your voice and attract the right audience.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I had access to more resources about the business side of creativity—things like finding clients, generating leads, and closing deals. When you’re starting out, you focus so much on honing your craft, but no one really teaches you how to turn that skill into a sustainable business. I had to figure out sales, pricing, and operations through trial and error, and if I had learned those things earlier, it would’ve saved me a lot of headaches. Creativity gets you noticed, but business skills keep you in demand.
