Gia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

My journey to creating Baldeh Beauty Bar really began when I started my career at European Wax Center. I worked my way up to become a Wax Trainer for Central Ohio, and while I loved perfecting my craft, I quickly realized I was underpaid and overworked. Then, I discovered I was pregnant with my son, and that was a wake-up call. I knew it was time to take control of my future and create something of my own.

In October 2021, while four months pregnant, I took a leap of faith and signed the lease for my suite—the suite I’m still in today! It was a scary and exciting moment, but I knew it was the right step for me and my growing family.

Now, three years later, I can honestly say I’ve never looked back. The freedom of being my own boss has allowed me to set my own schedule, be there for my son without the need for daycare, and create multiple streams of income. It’s been an incredible journey that has not only changed my life but also empowered me to support my family and others in ways I never imagined.

What excites me the most is that I know I’m setting an example for others. If I can do it—so can you! Whether it’s starting your own business, changing careers, or going back to school, I truly believe that life is too short to not chase what makes you feel fulfilled. It’s all about trusting yourself and taking that first step, even when it feels uncertain.

Hey there! I’m Gia Baldeh, the proud owner of Baldeh Beauty Bar in Columbus, Ohio, where we specialize in full body waxing with hard wax.

My journey into the esthetics world started when I was just 19, and from day one, I knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur. I always had this desire to create something that not only allowed me to be my own boss, but also helped others feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. Fast forward to now, and Baldeh Beauty Bar is a thriving, inclusive space where we’re all about high-quality service and exceptional results.
What really sets us apart is our commitment to both our clients and our products. Not only do we provide top-tier waxing services, but we also have our own body care line—designed especially for post-wax care. We worked closely with a manufacturer to ensure each product is perfect, from the ingredients to the packaging. Our wax, pre & post care etc are hypoallergenic, so it’s safe for all skin types, making our services suitable for absolutely everyone.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I’ve learned that it’s okay to not have all the answers. Early on in my journey, I thought I had to know everything and was hesitant to ask for help. But over time, I realized the value in investing in classes, seeking out mentors, and learning from others. There’s no shame in asking for guidance or leaning on those who have been through similar experiences. It’s all part of growth—personally and professionally—and embracing that has made all the difference in my business.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I’ve built my social media presence by staying true to myself—there’s no act, no pretenses. I share exactly what my business is about, while also keeping it fun, relatable, and educational. I love being able to show the behind-the-scenes and share my personality with my followers. To take it a step further, I’ve also invested in mentorships to better understand the social media algorithms and learn what truly works for my business. It’s all about staying authentic while continuously growing and improving!
