Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ghostmade Cellophane. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ghostmade, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Sometimes we have to risk. Risks are scary, require a leap of faith; and sometimes they don’t pan out. Through risks we learn a lot more of who we are and we grow. I took a risk at building up this “band” name Ghostmade Cellophane. From the ground up, I put my back into making a living as an artist without others musician in the room to tell me what’s right or wrong, without a producer or manager giving guidance. Ghostmade Cellophane started 4 years ago–I was in Los Angeles writing a record, flew out to New Orleans recorded that record, then flew to Minnesota to film a music video and then back to Los Angeles to play a show. It was a crazy time. How did I do it? Simple..I lived in a car, used whatever money I had to fund this project. I took a risk of believing in myself and what this music could be.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Ghostmade Cellophane is many subgenres of metal, pop, hip hop, industrial and punk rolled up into heavy harding hitting musical experience. If you’re looking to support an independent artist who builds up all his own music from the ground and leaves it all out there. Come give me a follow–you won’t be disappointed.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing I can experience is someone telling me that my music connected with them. When someone quotes lyrics from a song or reaches out to express how deeply they’ve been touch; it’s like a high–it’s a beautiful thing. There really isn’t a close second in how that makes me feel.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
For those of you who wonder why we musicians do it…It’s simple for a lot of us–it’s who we are. It’s wired into the fabric of our being and makes us feel the most alive.
