Hi Gervase, thanks for joining us today. Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?

One of the kindest things anyone has ever done for me happened a few years ago when I was going through a particularly tough time. I had just lost my job and was struggling financially, and on top of that, I was dealing with some personal issues that left me feeling very alone and isolated. I didn’t have many friends nearby, and those that were would often cancel plans or just not show up at all.

One day, I received a surprise package in the mail. It was from an old friend who I hadn’t seen or spoken to in years. The package contained a handwritten letter that was incredibly thoughtful and kind, expressing how much she cared about me and how much she believed in me. Along with the letter, she had also sent a small care package filled with some of my favorite snacks and little trinkets that I had mentioned loving in passing conversations.

The gesture may seem small, but it meant the world to me. It was a reminder that even though I felt alone, someone out there was thinking about me and cared enough to do something about it. The package gave me a glimmer of hope and brought some much-needed joy and gratitude into my life. I felt overwhelmed with emotion and tears of joy streamed down my face.

As I reflected on the moment, I realized that it wasn’t just about the contents of the package, but it was also about the effort and thoughtfulness behind the gesture. It was a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact on someone’s life, especially during times of hardship.

The kindness shown by my old friend was a reminder that there are good people in the world, and that kindness and compassion can make a difference in the lives of others. That one small act of kindness set off a ripple effect in my life, inspiring me to be kinder to myself and to others. Her gesture helped me to regain my self-confidence, and I slowly started to piece together a new future for myself.

Looking back on that moment, I am filled with an immense amount of gratitude for the kindness that was shown to me. It was a turning point in my life, and I will never forget the impact that it had on me. That act of kindness was a true gift that I will treasure forever, and it is a reminder that we can all make a difference by simply showing kindness and compassion to those around us.

Sure, I’d be happy to share more about myself and the work I do.

I first discovered my passion for marketing and design in college, where I originally studied education then later got my master of arts with a focus on Graphic Design and Multimedia. It was here that I honed my skills in branding, website design, and print design while also learning about social media marketing and digital advertising.

From there, I continued to grow my skills and experience through working at a variety of jobs and that included freelance work, building up a robust portfolio of work across a range of industries and businesses.

Today, I am the Marketing Specialist and Graphic Designer in my own company that specializes in providing tailored solutions to meet our clients’ branding, design, and marketing needs. Our services include brand and logo design, social media marketing, website design and remodels, and more.

What sets us apart from others is our commitment to truly understanding our clients’ needs and goals, and developing customized solutions to help them achieve success. We take a collaborative approach to every project, working closely with our clients to ensure that we create designs and marketing strategies that accurately reflect their brand and resonate with their target audience.

One of the things that I am most proud of in my career is the way that I have been able to help businesses grow and succeed through my work. Whether it’s through a stunning new website design, a targeted social media campaign, or a new logo that truly captures a brand’s essence, I love seeing the positive impact that our work can have for our clients.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

As a seasoned Marketing Specialist and Graphic Designer, I have learned numerous valuable lessons throughout my career. However, one notable lesson that I had to unlearn was the notion of having to be a jack-of-all-trades.

Previously, I believed that successful professionals should be well-versed in every aspect of their field. I felt that I needed to master all areas of graphic design, marketing, and website development to provide the best possible service to my clients.

However, this approach proved to be counterproductive as I found myself bogged down by an overwhelming workload and losing focus on my areas of expertise. Soon enough, I realized that trying to do it all was not only impossible but also unsustainable.

I then began to acknowledge the importance of collaboration and outsourcing where necessary. I saw that delegating tasks to other specialists in my team allowed me to focus on my core competencies and deliver higher quality work to my clients.

Looking back, I am glad that I unlearned the notion of being a jack-of-all-trades. I now firmly believes that success in any field requires a team effort and a clear understanding of individual strengths and abilities.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
