We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gerian Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Gerian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I was about 7 years old before I moved to Memphis and one of my elementary school teachers laughed at something I said and said “he should be on tv”. That was something alot of people said abput me but it was then that I asked myself “why does everyone say that” hmmm maybe I’m meant to be a comedian.

Gerian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well when I’m not saving the world as a financial professional I do stand up comedy.
I got started at an open mic at the comedy junt on American Way and the rest is history. I do standup, host, act, and have even written jokes for a few comics.
I tell my clients for finance that nothing heals like peace of mind just like I tell my audience nothing heals like laughter.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFTs are just new age trash people slap money on to make it seem shiny. Remember just because something costs doesn’t mean its worth it. Please invest money into something more realistc.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think its like being a super hero. I get to sit with people and help them with insurance and retirement and then go kill a set on stage in front of a crowd. When helping people is your passion smiles and laughter become your life blood.
